Slow Flow!
I replaced an old water filter with this Aquasana. I wasn't happy with the flow rate of this model so I replaced it with the Aquasana Max-Flow which seems to have a slightly better flow rate. Overall, I am very happy with this water filter. The water is very clear!

THIS IS A 'NOPE'!!
Installed easily enough... it just DOES NOT WORK!! I have a ZEROWATER Filter with a water particle meter. When the meter reads "7" it's time to change the filter. After installing the Aquasana 3 Part Filter this same meter read '280'!!! What a waste of money... It's still installed under my sink... I just don't use the damn thing!!

Terrible Installation Documentation / Faulty filter delivered
Terrible installation experience caused by a faulty stage 1 filter. Symptom was zero water flow. After fully installing the filter, I had to disasemble each plumbing connection to identify a fault in the filter. There was no troubleshooting guide in the installation manual. Aquasana telephone support was closed at 4PM Pacific time so I could not contact them until a day later. The next day the support person walked me through a diagnostic procedure. I was told to place a "quarter" inside, on the bottom of the #1 prefilter. Then reinstall the filter. This "fixed" the issue. The agent told me the prefilter was defective and they would send me a new one. I was told they would need 3 to 5 business days to ship it out and them 7 business days for it to get here. A 2 week wait for them to get me a fix. Aquasana, apparently, places no priority on getting a replacement part to its customers. It takes its own sweet time. Also, based on the agent's total familiarity with the issue, Aquasana is very aware of the defect, yet it makes no effort to fix the issue in its sales chain, nor to warn customers, nor to include any kind of online installation assistance. Terrible product quality issue. Terrible precustomer and new customer support. Terrible priority given to getting a fix out to customers in a timely manner. The owner's / installation manual completely omits any reference to the battery.

Good water but needs installation improvement
First the good part, the water is good. This is a good product it just needs some simple upgrades to make it an excellent product and simple to install. We had a Britta filter for many years and also got reverse osmosis water from the grocery store. This is an improvement and more convenient since we drink a lot of water. Now the disappointing part. For a company that is owned by A.O. Smith I'm disappointed on the features and the installation. I added some pictures for description. 1. When installing the faucet into the existing hole in the granite counter the collar on the faucet barely cover the hole. The base needs to be higher and wider and more substantial. 2. The faucet in not as sturdy as it should be for the price. I know the dispenser tube is meant to come out but over time it is just going to get loose. It needs to be more secure. 3. Like faucets from Delta it would be nice to have the hose for the water to be already part of the faucet so you don't have to crank your head up to tighten the tiny nut that holds the hose. Plus installation would be much easier and quicker. 4. The faucet needs to have a wider plastic nut with flanges like the one in the picture. The tiny stainless nut provided works but could really be improved with an upgraded easy to install nut. I used my old soap dispenser as an example of what it should be like. 5. The refill light needs to be in the front not on top where you can't see it because the sink is in the way. In the picture the light is on top where you can't see it. The assumption appears to be that everyone has a ton of room under their sink. 6. The finish on the faucet is supposed to be brushed nickel but looks like chrome. 7. Hoses need to be longer for people that have large sinks, the distance from the shutoff value to the unit barely makes, it plus the hoses are not very flexible. 8. Water flow from faucet is slow Bottom line is that with a few improvements this could go from a good product to an excellent product.

Good while it lasted
I had this unit a few years. We noticed the bottom of our cabinet was soaked ( massive clean up). It took a while to figure out the source. The housing of the filter was no longer holding the water. When I reached out to customer service she didn’t seem surprised! She matter of factly said “ if the hose running through the unit springs a leak the water will come out”. This really made me question getting another under counter system bcse I don’t have time to check for these issues. I decided to try another brand after reading reviews but definitely didn’t buy this again.

It's okay
1. Could use longer tubing. I had to buy 2 rolls of tubing to mount properly under the sink. 2. Could user a better T-valve. I bought a valve with a switch so I could just turn off the filters and not the whole sink. 3. Does take the odor out of the water 4. Does not take all the ions out of the water so if your water has high PPM it will still be high 5. Takes out a lot of contaminants but fluoride is not one of them. 6. Better than the brita pitcher filter we were using before.

Simple to install, water quality fine, flow rate a bit low
Pros: easy to install, water quality is fine to drink. Before Aquasana I was using Brita over the counter filter and I was getting 160-170 TDS. With Aquasana I am getting almost similar TDS (around 160-170) which is still good. But keep in mind that this filter is not built only to reduce TDS. This filter does what it is designed for. My Tap water was little heavier (230-250 TDS). Probably, just a carbon filter would have been sufficient. But Aquasana 5300.56 is a good affordable filter and two additional filters along with carbon filter won’t do any harm. I, therefore, decided to get this filter. I have read reviews that connections leak after couple of years. I will have to wait and see (I will update if it leaks). So far it is good. Cons: nothing much. Flow rate is a bit low but this is not a kitchen faucet. I found the flow ok for a drinking water faucet. Only challenge for me was to drill a hole in my steel sink and tightening the faucet nut under the sink because it was hard to reach. For drilling I used step drill bit and it was quick. For tightening the nut, I tried basin wrench and needle plier. The plier worked in my case.

After installation
Installed this morning, very easy, parts are well made and high quality, manual Is clear and useful. The tube measure mark is truly helpful, smart idea. Water filtered is tasteful, no taste of chlorine. Let's see the long term experience.

Great tasting water!
We are 2 80 year olds. Easy to install under the counter. Does not take up a lot of room. The water is Clear and tastes really good basically there is NO taste at all. We recommend this system.

The housing for holding the filter leaked and is till leaking
I purchased this AQ-5300 a few days ago. The unit was quite easy to connect all the hoses. However, after installing the unit, I noticed that there was a leak at the "black' labelled housing and it is still leaking at the time I am writing this review. I took the filter out hoping that I would find some loosened connections. There was none. I put everything back inside the housing and re-installed the unit again. The leaking was still there! It is bad. I believe the unit is defective. Although the leak is not severe, but it rendered the whole filter system useless. Unless Aquasana is going to do something, or perhaps replacing the "black" labelled housing or the whole system soon, otherwise I have no choice but returning the whole system to Amazon. It is a very frustrating experience! I have wasted too much of my time with this defective thing. I am disappointed. Thanks to the poor quality control on Aquasana's part. Raymond

Excellent water filter
This water filter is small and takes very little space. Installation does require some strength and skill. Some of the hardware could be better quality for installation. The water tastes great, and the flow rate is good.
