easy to use, as described

just works, put in the 9v battery, tested it by dropping a couple of water on the table, lay this detector on top of the water drop to make contact, it beeps. take it away from the water drop, beeps stop. it's that simple.

Finally paid off

Had this item for 2 years. Never really tested it. Put my AC sump pump in a pan and placed one of these devices in the pan. Well... 2 years later it finally paid off and saved me $$ and headaches. Worked like a charm.

Reliable product. Purchased 4 of them.

Reliable and easy. Bought four of them. Will need to purchase another two as well. You need these in your residence under ALL sinks, around your water heater and around your sump pump. Water damage is expensive. These are reasonably priced.

DO NOT BUY IT IS JUNK

Do not purchase this item. Absolutely does not work. I have tried 3 different brand new batteries and then tested it with water. Item does not work. Even if you hold your fingertips on the two metal pins on the back you will not hear a sound. Resideo is a spin off company of Honeywell. I did not know this item is not refundable when I purchased off of Amazon. I went to return this item and found out its nonrefundable. Amazon provides Honeywell's number for customers service for refund for defective product. I called them and they stated its not their item. Resideo is a spin off company and I had to contact them. Once I got through to them they stated they don't do refunds and I need to contact the place I purchased it from which was Amazon ,and who is starting it is nonrefundable. This cost me alot of money for five useless items that I can't return or get my money back especially when it arrived not working. This company and product has caused me lots of stress and a huge loss in money. Do NOT BUY

Reliable protection against water leaks

After installing a 5-gallon water bottle in our dispenser, we woke up the following day to a small flood in our pantry area which required a lot of work to clean up the mess. I purchased this product as a safety backup against future leaks. Two weeks after I placed the unit beside our water dispenser, we experienced another leaking bottle. This time, however, we had the alarm which sounded quickly - loud and clear. The leak was limited to a small puddle of water. I am delighted with the product. I recommend it to anyone who might have concerns about any water leaks. Simple, but very effective protection.

Reusable, requires one 9 volt battery. Easy placed anywhere. Sound is as loud as a smoke detector.

This purchase is just one of many I have made in the past few years for this leak detector. Just love it. Take it out of the package, install a new 9 volt battery, place on floor near anything that may leak. The sound it makes startles you much like a smoke detector. Beauty of this product is that if unit does get wet and sounds the alarm, after repairing whatever is leaking, discard the old 9 volt battery, place leak detector on an air register or by a fan and let it completely dry. Install new battery and you are all set. The one I just purchased will go in my travel trailer in the water pump housing which is under the bed & out of sight. The others are in my home between the water tank and water softener, one is under the frig ice maker/filter, one is under by clothes washing machine. Most important one is under my dishwasher just slide in out of sight. My dishwasher gets turned on at bedtime. Now I have the confidence I'll be woken up if there is a problem & not dealing with a major repair and insurance claim in the morning. Been there, done that, to the tune of $60,000 damage and major headaches during repairs.
