Sunex and Grey Pneumatic are the exact same!!

Sunex and Grey Pneumatic impact sockets are basically the exact same!! Look at the photos of them compared side by side. They are literally identical to each other!! The difference? Sunex actually follows through with their warranty and getting Grey Pneumatic to warranty anything these days is next to impossible. The biggest problem with sunex sockets is the lack of milling on the shoulders of the deep sockets 8mm-11mm on the 3/8 impact set. The 9mm and 11mm will likely never get used, but those deep 8mm and 10mm sizes were important, and the clearance was garbage. Solution? I purchased a Grey Pneumatic 8mm and 10mm impact socket for my set. They are the exact same as sunex sockets and vice versa just with a few small differences. The Grey Pneumatic is marked with a size 3 times vs 2 times on the sunex, and obviously the milling on the shoulders of their 8mm and 10mm are deeper allowing for more clearance. Aside from those 2 things these are the same sockets. Just look at the photos, they are the same down to the letters and numbers on both sockets.

If you need reading glasses...you'll have to bust them out to read what size the socket it - print on the tool is small and somewhat low contrast. Should would have been nice if the size print was 4x bigger. Other than that, set provides a nice mix of options. Expect to have to add another extension or two as the included 3" one is limiting.

Wow... great deal for the price!

Just received this master set and I am blown away by the sheer value for money and its coverage. It is really not missing very much and they also seem to be very well made sockets and bits. I can't really comment on their durability yet but we are off to a great start. i do love that they are both individually size stamped and also clearly marked with white ink. I will update my review here if my opinion changes after using them.

I love these sockets. The brand is a solid brand! But, I did receive two deep 9/16 sockets and they left out one of my others. This seems to be something others are complaining about as well. Sounds like their QC department needs attention :)

Excellent tool set. 7mm, 21 and 22 sizes are a great boon.

7mm sizes are good for not switching to a quarter inch adapter etc for your impact. 21 and 22 sizes are great for brake work. Excellent set.

Purchased this with the 1/4'' set and very pleased with the quality of the sockets. I have been using chrome sockets for a long time with an impact and afraid of it shattering as i have had one shatter so i new it was time to invest in a 3/8 impact set. This set was a a little pricey but i new it was high quality so decided to purchase it. When i received it i personally took all the sockets out of the case as i have a storage rack but the case is nice to carry around as it's durable and keeps everything organized. The sockets are durable and the etching on the sockets doesn't rub of with grease or oil. The set also comes with a impact swivel and a 3'' extension. Overall it's a socket and they work has intended and not much to say. I would totally recommend if looking for impact sockets but these are good quality.

Would recommend this set to anyone starting out or even someone who is tired of blowing all their money on over priced tool truck tools. Wide size range 8mm-19mm and 5/16"-3/4" No skips. Ive had these sockets for almost 4 years and use them 90% of the time as a heavy duty mechanic. They are pretty thin walled even compared to MAC and Snap-on and super durable. I have only broken the 19mm deep socket after using the set for 3 years and in the last year i have broken (2) of the MAC tools 19mm deep sockets that i replaced it with. If that doesn't show good durability im not sure what will.

Utility over looks

The hole for the ball detent is a little low and a little large as i have seen in other manufacturer's sockets but in practice it is not something that I even notice when using them (why do they do this?). The position of the etching in relation to the engraving on each socket is random. They came all scrambled inside the case but sit well after i removed the lid and put em in a drawer. They seem kind of rough. However, It is an excellent set overall when you consider the cost efficiency and overall utility this set possesses. You get the sense that if you paid more money it would be only cosmetic. They're not pretty but they work. They work good.

Solid, High Quality, Absolutely Awesome Set!

This is an awesome set because you get 7-22mm in all styles! I bought a 3/8 Ernst socket organizer to organize them in my tool box. I unfortunately broke the swivel spring on a 17 mm I used on an impact gun but I contacted Sunex and got a replacement fast! No questions asked, the lifetime warranty is legit.

The only 3/8 set socket set you should be buying

Actually really impressed with what it comes with, I’ve been using these mostly with my Milwaukee 3/8 stubby impact and snapon cordless ratchet and they are holding up well. The fact it’s a complete set from 7mm-22mm without skipping is AWESOME
