Seems to be well made and heavy duty... But the flip flop on the warranty statement is comical!

Purchased this to help my 93 yr old mother get in and out of my car when I take her places. Works great and is very sturdy and stable. I did notice when shopping for them some appear to attach to the door latch and point away from the car. This handle when attached to the latch points towards the front of the car. I think this makes for a sturdier connection. One last observation. The package states and I quote "Lifetime Guarantee! 100% satisfaction. You are always right no matter what." That seems very clear to me. BUT the instruction sheet inside states. "Limited Warranty. Standers, Inc warrants to the original purchaser that this product will be free from defects in material and or workmanship for 1 year from the date of purchase." It them goes on to say you must prepay shipping costs and the repair is still only good up to the original year. It continues with more legalize about what isn't covered. SOOOO what happened to the "Lifetime Guarantee!" and I'm always right as stated in the bright orange circle on the front of the package? I can't imagine anyone could break this thing unless you were using it for something it's not made for like a crowbar!!!

A Big Help Getting Into and Out of the Car

This is a great item that helps folks with a physical problem(e.g. hip replacement) to be able to get in the car more easily. It attaches quickly to the door latch loop on the car door pillar and provides a sturdy handle to help you get on or off the car seat. It wiggles around a bit, but remains sturdy when you push on it. I thought the price was a little high, but it is very strong and has a small flashlight in the end which can be annoying as it sometimes turns on when you don't want it to.

One, two, three...an easy car exit for me

Have an elderly parent or friend that has difficulty getting the leverage to easily get in and out of the car? If so, this product is for you. The Metro Car Handle hooks into the catch of the car door on either the front or back and provides a handle that is easily grasped and provides the leverage needed to push up and out of the seat. It allows you to easily stand up from a sitting position making exiting the care far easier than if you had to grab the door frame to use as a support. Using this product eliminates the torquing and unbalanced stance that accompanies using the door or door frame of the car for support and leverage when getting out of your car. Simply place the product in the door catch swing your legs out of the door and push down on the Metro handle to help yourself stand up. Once you've exited the car, remove the Metro handle and shut and lock the door. The Metro handle is study and small enough to store easily in a seat pocket, center console or in the dashboard. I bought 2 of them, one for each of my parents and it has virtually eliminated the dread that they had each time they had to enter or exit their cars.

LED flashlight is not very good but overall product is excellent

Pros: Sturdy and fits my Mazda Protege door lock bolt easily. Cons: LED flashlight function, though a great idea, it's not very well executed. I have a '98 Mazda Protege with 220K+ miles. It gets me from point A to B and I personally have no problems with it but unfortunately my parents are getting up in the years and sometimes struggle to get in & out of my car, especially with it sitting so low to the ground. I will be getting a "newer" SUV next year. This tool which I discovered when I did research on automobiles that are easy for seniors to ride in works wonderfully. Unfortunately I don't bother with the LED flashlight function. The end cap must be left on loose otherwise the light stays on and the battery will drain. I think a better design would have a been a button.

Works like a charm!

Did not realize how useful this was until I used it. Able to smoothly transfer from vehicles to wheelchair and back.

Easy to use,very helpful.

My wife has trouble getting into my truck so bought this for her to use. It did the trick. Very sturdy, easy to use. Great for the price. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a hand getting into a vehicle.

Great with one concern

Very sturdy. Has long insert for connection to the door frame increasing stability. Only concern is that the blade for cutting the seat belt if needed, is fairly open. Little fingers of children could be cut if left for them to explore. Certainly this should be in the front seat and the young children in the back seat, but still is a cause for concern.

This product is a lifesaver

My sister is having chemo and it is hard getting her in and out of my van. This is easy to use and she can get in van by herself safely. What a great product it is. Now it is much easier to get her to appointments. I do recommend this product.

Very disappointed

I was very excited to open but the package was half open and the 2 included battery were too old green and white powder on them (leaking? ) as pictured. I need to get new batteries. Very disappointed.
