It has the necessary oval shape

I originally bought another metal filter that said it was for "all 8-12 cup coffee makers" but that filter was round and didn't fit in our machine. This one fits our Mr. Coffee 12-cup maker because it has an oval shape. This filter is pretty much the same as the one that came with our coffee maker, except the original filter's nylon screen was already starting to give way after a few weeks. This one seems sturdier.

cheap plastic junk

they misrepresented the size. it was supposed to be a larger size filter .it is cheap, bent plastic. typical of the place it was manufactured.

Solid bottom a fail

Bottom is solid plastic which makes it impossible to spray from the bottom to get it cleaned. It also wasted coffee as it keeps about 1/4" brewed coffee in due to the bottom plastic. The bottom should be off the same material the walls are.
