WingIts tile bits from Amazon

As a full time contractor I was impressed with the company video on the WingIts website but remained skeptical until I purchased the set of 5 WingIts bits to install 4 grab bars in a tiled shower for an elderly client. I needed the 1 1/4 bit for installing secure mount devices inside the wall where there were no supporting studs. These drill bits ran through the tiled shower wall and the backing mortar/mesh bed without wandering. Very easy. It was like drilling through half inch dry wall. The first couple of holes came out perfectly round but the last hole had a bit of a wavy edge to it. Since the hole is sealed and completely covered by the hardware it didn't really matter. In any case I'm tossing out my old tile bits.( Note: the cheesy wooden mount inside the wooden case for the bits was broken on arrival and the bits were bouncing around loose inside. This however did not seem to effect the initial performance of these drill bits. Hopefully the bit I used works as well for the other 192 holes that it's rated for. 5 star tool minus 1 star for broken box)

Wierd Design Awsome Drill Bit

These are awesome for drilling. I must confess that when I looked at them I had doubts. They are made and offered to install the Wingits anchor system but are so much more than that to have in your tool box. These drills are tough to the core. Drilling in tile is a no brainer for these bits. They have multiple carbide cutters and very sharp aiding in smooth drilling in all types of material. I purchased in the beginning only one bit but after drilling a few time with it I had to have the set. I am happy to have found and purchased these for my business. I use them a lot during a weeks time and they are tough and still up for the task.

Total fail, drill bits couldn't drill 2 holes before it shattered.

I set my Milwaukee drill on low speed, used medium pressure and 2 bits broke after only drilling 2 holes. Actually it only drilled 1 hole and broke inside the 2nd. I bought 2 sets and now have buyer's remorse. Later I tried the half inch bit but it took minutes just to get through the top layer. Super disappointed after seeing the video the manufacturer has on youtube. Talk about false advertising.

The drills work fine, but the wingits themselves don’t deploy correctly in walls with insulation

Not for porcelain tile!

I attempted using these on porcelain tile and they did not work at all. The "wings" chipped on the bits and they became progressively worse as I continued drilling. I suspect they might be ok for ceramic tile, but do not attempt to use them on porcelain. I must admit the seller graciously accepted the bits back. I was out the shipping charges, but that was much less than the cost of the bit set. For porcelain tile, use a diamond hole saw. I purchased a saw from Amazon and it worked flawlessly, making all the remaining holes I needed for 7 grab bars with multiple holes for each one.

Nice set

I only used two sizes to install some shower grab bars and they worked well. Had a one defective bit in the set but supplier promptly cross-shipped a replacement kit and a call-tag for returning the other kit.

had 12 holes to drill bit did great for 6 holes then stop drilling

When arrive two of bits had rust (1 inch and 1 1/4).i was using 1/2 inch bit drilling marble over mud set for grab bars, had 12 holes to drill bit did great for 6 holes then stop drilling. I then predrill with 1/4 bit it lasted 4 holes. I had to use standard masonry bit to complete drilling and also use then to finish the hole thru the mesh so not to damage Apache bit. I been in building trades 48 years these are not worth the price. I wondering if these are fake sold as real. Ken Stone, Lone Star Custom Builders
