Great window clasp, but a bit brittle

I have old wooden windows and needed to replace the latch. The windows are slightly warped so don't close all the way when it is humid. The latch works great, until the window wouldn't quite close and the arm only covered the very tip of the latch. When I tried to close further, the latch part broke off. Luckily the kit comes with extender washers. I bought a replacement, used the washer, and now the latch works fine. Just be aware of the brittleness of the metal.

Work, but

These did the job but one snapped when I tried to bend it a little. Low cost made it worth just using another one.

Not bad

These were a replacement for some old windows I have in my greenhouse and the were easy to install. Only thing is compared to what was on my windows the actual knob is pretty wobbly. My other ones just turned and never was that shaky.

It does what it was made to do. NOT A LOCK????

If you choose to purchase this item understand that this is NOT a Lock. It is a simple latch. If installed as show in pic it will serve its purpose well. Have it the other way and it might slip out of its placement. So turning it counterclockwise is the way to go????????????

Useful for cabinets and chests not just windows

Although this latch was designed for windows it can be used in several applications. I use it as a cabinet door latch and like it a lot

Don't Last More than a Year

Bought this because it fit the holes and size of the solid brass one installed over 15 years ago on two narrow windows. This is our second purchase of these. We open and close at least once a day for air circulation and the handle, always loosen and eventually come out of the mounting. This time the even the other part broke off. Wish we could locate one of these of better quality, but Amazon doesn't have any that match the size.
