Good replacement for my 24 year old tub

Nice chromed brass replacement part, but the threaded rod is plastic. Replaced it with my original threaded shaft, which was brass works great.

Decent quality part

Chrome part quality is good, but the plastic thread quality is week making a bit difficult to install.

2 Minute Fix!

I am not crazy about fact the "stem" is now made of plastic. Nor is the "Made in China" marking (out of sight, on the bottom) anything to be excited about. However, this device (aside from the plastic stem) is reasonably heavy chromed metal. Simple instructions, a literal 2 minute fix for my stopper issue (I formerly used a spring loaded push to click stop/unstop device). Fairly priced. Looks great.

It does work and super easy to install.

I ordered a new product and it was obvious the product had been a return because there was the top piece floating around outside the package that had been stapled back together in one corner.

Over the past few years i have purchased 3 of these. Works well, solid. No leaks, and good drain flow. Cant lose the the plug as it is a twist and pull/drop This is the drain plug to get, forget the others

Perfect!

I’m so glad I picked this one out of all the choices! It’s priced right and is perfect for our tub. I don’t know why they have 7 steps listed and mentions a wrench is needed. It’s not that serious. All you have to do is unscrew the nut at the very bottom, put it in your tub drain, screw the whole thing in (takes just a few turns) and you’re done.

Much nicer than my old stopper

This review concerns the following: DANCO Lift and Turn Tub and Bath Drain Stopper, Chrome (88599) I had a tub stopper that pulled straight up, and stayed in the up position with pressure. The problem was it would get corrosion on the mechanism from soap, hard water, etc. so if I didn't work it up and down every few days it would jam up and become impossible to move/work. This one is much nicer. You lift it and turn it about a quarter turn to put it in the up position. Then, simply do the opposite to operate it as a stopper. There's play in the mechanism so soap and hard water buildup will not be a problem. Now - installation. This one, as shipped to you, will be I think a 5/16" shaft. My tub requires a 3/8", 16 threads per inch. (16 tpi is "coarse" thread. If your tub fitting requires fine thread do not buy this.) If you need the 3/8" size as I did, just simply unscrew the wide top part, remove the plastic nut, flip the shaft end for end and you can put the 3/8" shaft end into your tub fitting. Recommended.

Just right for replacement

Was not sure if this would fit my bath tub drain. I don't know anything about drain sizes and it was difficult to determine by the pictures on Amazon that this item would fit the drain. A few dimensions would have been helpful. Anyway after much contemplation as to fitment I decided to order. Fits perfect.
