D-Con Ultra Set Trap
I've been using the Ultra Set traps for at least 15 years now. I always have 3 or 4 of them set around the outside of the house, and they do a good job of attracting and trapping. What other reviewers are saying about the traps breaking and having to be replaced is absolutely right. There's a plastic notch on the trap mechanism that is designed to catch the lever when you're setting the trap. If that notch breaks off or wears down over time, the trap is useless and has to be discarded. I've had some traps that have lasted months and just as many that have broken after one catch. I keep on buying them though because of the ease of use and because the cover protects it from being messed with by our dogs or other animals. I haven't found any covered traps that work better than this one.

These are the best Mouse traps out there.
I've been purchasing Mouse traps for years for our garage. I have used many a brand but these are the best in the market. Very sensitive would be the only downfall. You bait the traps and "gently" set them down. That's a good thing though and we have caught I think all the mice that were nesting thru the Winter in our garage. I don't clean the traps personally (although you can) but when they kill a mouse I bag him in the trap and simply toss out feeling it's not worth the effort to reuse them. As long as they are available I will continue to use this product! Delivered on time and reasonably priced. Great product!

didn't quite work as expected
well, as it states... it IS guaranteed to kill bc it did within a few hours of setting and baiting the trap. what i was not expecting is exactly HOW it worked. literally, while i was rereading the reviews on this product after i set the traps a few hours earlier, i heard a loud snap/thud. it came from where i placed one of the traps. i went to see if i heard right and i did. a dead mouse. the only problem is that there was blood on my floor and the mouse was not in the trap. it was on the floor too outside of the trap. i don't know how it escaped but it did. i had to call a neighbor to come and do the dirty work for me bc i just couldn't. how and why did this happen? i thought it's supposed to keep the mouse contained?!! this is not something i'd ever want to go through again but i do need to keep using the traps just in case there are more.

Gets the job done
I have a rarely visited RV/travel trailer that has some rodents hanging out. I bought several of these traps and baited them with peanut butter. A week later, there were two that had caught mice. One was soiled, so I discarded it, but the other got reset without even adding more bait. A little while later, it caught a third mouse. They are a little twitchy to set, but otherwise work pretty good.

Great for squeamish people!
Yes, you may still see a mouse tail or butt when throwing these away (or reusing--whatever floats your boat), but they're a thousand times less revolting than the cheap ones (a rectangle w/spring and bar). These are easy to bait with a small dab of peanut butter and easy to set. (Less is more when it comes to peanut butter/bait: Mice don't have trouble honing in on just a bit of bait, and a small dab in the divot ensures the mouse has to enter the trap to get it. Overflowing bait can make mice traps less effective.) I really appreciate the red lever that indicates if the trap has been tripped--I can see that without getting close. ???? I've never had a d-CON trip without getting a mouse. All mice were dead, so none of the nastiness of a partial catch and an assured, quick death is more humane if that's something you worry about. I live in a wooded region with a huge tick and Lyme disease problem and plenty of deer. I use these traps near my firewood pile to reduce mice near my house and to reduce the risk of Lyme-carrying ticks near my house. (Mice are the primary vector by which ticks acquire Lyme and associated diseases. Deer can further spread ticks that previously latched onto a mouse.) I've only needed to use these outside and they work great there; I'd have no qualms about using them in my house as the cover and setting mechanism makes them MUCH safer around pets and children, and safer for the setter. I don't post a ton of reviews and I don't think I've disrespected a competitor's product before but I've been using mouse traps enough seasons and have used products enough times to confidently say that these d-CON traps are much, much better then the white-cover TomCat traps. I don't know why, as I'd think the mechanism is the same but I get completely different results. Over half of my TomCat traps tripped without catching a mouse. Mice had eaten some of the bait but weren't caught. That's happened, at most, once with a d-CON trap, and even then I'm not sure a mouse set it off (could have been me). The TomCat traps are also taller, so they fall over easier; they need a very flat surface to sit on. The low profile of these d-CON traps make them more versatile, especially outside; I can put them almost anywhere, even inside the woodpile. And the dark color doesn't draw attention to the fact I have mouse traps out. The TomCat traps were also harder to set; the lever isn't hard to pull but I'd have to try several times to get the latch to engage. It was frustrating. Two TomCat traps never engaged at all, no matter how I fiddled with it, so they just went in the garbage. Every once in a great while I'll find a d-CON trap that doesn't engage on the very first try, but a light push to the side at the end of the pull always finds and sets the latch. Never thought I'd write this much about mouse traps but I hope it helps. I didn't want to spend extra money on mice traps without knowing how well they worked.

These traps work so good and are very easy to set up. I seen other reviews on them saying they only worked once but nope I have set these up and used them again with no problem . Very nice not having to touch the mouse or really see it. 100% recommend these

Brilliant
Excellent product. Set for 2 nights so far and caught 2 mice. Easy to set up and simple to dispose of mouse without touching the mouse itself. Highly recommend for smaller house mice.
