Rear-End Protection

If you want to protect your bumper from a rear-ending by a distracted driver without making your vehicle look ridiculous, you should buy this. As for its intended purpose, I'm sure it'll work for that too.

Thick 3/16" steel skid plate. It will stand up to rocks or anything else.

Very Practical and Functional Product

This skid shield works well on the front hitch of my 2015 Silverado 1500. The front hitch takes away a pinch of ground clearance and approach angle. So this skid shield works nicely to protect the front hitch and minimize the front hitch catching an edge when offroading. It sticks out about a 1/2" further than it could if it were in flush against the hitch. Another pin hole could be drilled but personally I will leave it as is. This way if a car were to back into me or I bump a high curb the skid may bear the brunt of it instead of the bumper.

Nice skid shield, nothing fancy.

I think pretty much all the reviews for this are fair. It is a solid piece of metal, priced a bit less than the competition. I like this one because the edges were a little more round. It's on the back of my Jeep Wrangler to discourage tailgaters. The sticker kind of sucks, but it also wasn't on there very well and came right off with no hassle at all. There's a second hole under the sticker...no idea why. I also had to wrap it with electrical tape to make it nice and snug.

Quality build

It's CURT! Alittle pricey for what it is but will last a life time. Quality build and make the front end look alot better. I installed a front hitch to my 2011 tundra, it made the setup complete.

Great for text and drive drivers.

Someone rear ended my wife going 30mph. The skid plate actually pushed the car that hit her down and lifted up the back end of her jeep protecting it. Not a scratch. Their car was absolutely devastated. Lol. Stop texting and driving.

It's heavy duty.

Not worth the money, buy a competitive unit. Also the "skid plate" in front is way too small. Look elsewhere.
