Perfect length and hard to find.

This extension was very hard to find. All the local stores (and most on line) only offered the 12" which was a pain using a 90 degree drill to pass through existing wall studs (cutting several from one position with extensions) for ABS pipe. This tool was so handy (the first one I made myself by cutting down a 12" extension and welding the ends together - which some worker really liked enough to 'forget' he took it with him). Will be purchasing a few more for the hole saw box.

Smaller diameter for smaller holes

The quick change extensions are too bulky to pass through smaller holes. We primary use ⅞" bits and this fits no problem

Almost what I was looking for

As an electrician I was hopeful for this extension I can say that as an electrician the standard size use as an auger bit is 7/8. So when the head of this extension is 7/8 it defeats the purpose of the extension if the head of the extension barely fit through the hole. As I see it this is a major fault in the planning of this extension so yes it will go through but truly make me question the how long it will last. As a thought if you just made a 12" auger they would sell like hot cakes.

The head is so big it's virtually useless unless you're drilling bigger hole

Wanted to use for running wire but I'm not going to gouge a huge hole through a stud just to get this extension through. Bosch stuff usually over priced. There are only a couple tools that they build better than the competition. Have really stopped looking at Bosch-they don't seem to be interested in innovating. They just produce a vanilla line up that is too expensive.

Head of the extension is nearly an inch in diameter making it worthless for many uses

Unless you have a one-inch or better hole, the head of this extension will not fit/
