Peels so fine that it requires effort to actually peel potatoes

As the title says - the peel is so thin and delicate - and requires a fair amount of effort to get the work done. Not sure I'd recommend.

Dream Tool

Gorgeously sturdy and sharp peeler blades are fixed in a slip-resistant handle. Inventor of this device should get a Nobel Prize in Engineering. Like why are most peelers the most painful-to-use implements in a kitchen? Well, our days of pinching and hurting our hands just to peel a carrot are over! Comfort is the key here. That thick Y shaped handle fits my small dry hand beautifully. There's a tiny little seam in the plastic, so I can't say the plastic is seamless, but it's so smoothly clipped down, it doesn't bother me a bit while using the peeler. No discomfort. Nice, even action on peeling cucumbers, carrots, potatoes. You can even control the depth of the slice. Haven't given it the beet test, but I'm confident this will handle beets well. It can be employed delicately for touching up things like bruised romaine stems. There's a little circular appendage for removing eyes of potatoes and this worked very well for the task. Liked it so much, I bought another for second house.

The Best!

Bought this to replace a zyliss peeler I had for 6 years. Doesn't look or feel the same, yet functions even better. Easy to hold and performs well whether peeling carrots, sweet potatoes, or turnip. Great product!

Works! But not as good as the original version

I really liked the first version of this peeler, and when I tried to get one it was unavailable. So, I ended up buying this one, the newer version, becuase I figured it would be just as good or better. To my disappointment, it doesn’t work as well. You can’t peel in either direction, it peels smaller widths at a time, and it’s blade is smaller in general. Overall, it works, but if you’re looking for a replacement like you had, then I’d look elsewhere. If you don’t really care and just want a nice/okay peeler, then go ahead and get this.

The aperture has been made smaller and therefore not efficient any more, so I will never buy again.

As I explained, the blades are now closer together making the peeler a poor choice if you are a busy chef and haven't the time to stand forever trying to peel potatoes, carrots etc. I will NEVER buy again. My old peeler, the same make is a joy. I hope the makers will take note and change manufacturing back to their older model. ????
