It's a hot one alright!
This is a pretty hot fence charger and does a good job on one of our fences keeping horses in. Use the charger as intended and it is fine. I did NOT follow the manufacturers recommendation however, and used solar panels to charge the battery and the system does not work well. The couple of extra volts the panel supplies while charging is okay, I'm sure they designed that much margin into the electronics (but don't let the battery dry out!). The problem is when the battery gets low, as in winter with a few cloudy days, and the battery drops in voltage. This IS a hot charger and pulls a lot of current and a LOT more on a low battery, such that the solar panel, once it gets behind, can never recharge the battery while the unit is running, and the system cannot recover. For reference, a similar solar powered charger we have has 1/5th the power/pulse of this one.

Works as advertised.
We live in the country surrounded by all types of wildlife that prefer our garden to all the other choices they have. So far our garden has remained in tack with no varmints getting to our vegetables. Unit was simple to install . Working perfectly.

Its works superb!!
This Fence charger it's not weatherproof DON'T LET IT GET WET AND KEEP AWAY FROM MOISTURE. Other than that its works superb. I'm currently using it to keep horses in. Works great with a normal car 12volt battery just recharge the battery once per week.

High pitched squeal
First unit I received had a high pitched noise like a dog whistle. The noise was constant. Called the company and talked to an old guy named Ken I believe and he said that the unit should not make any noise other than the normal click when it is electrified. He told me to send it back to Amazon and get a new one. The new one arrived and has the same issue. It still shocks you very well, but it's kind of annoy to constantly hear a high pitched squeal/whistle noise constantly while outside. Maybe I got 2 bad units? But I will change review based on response from company.

It works.
When my mare touched the fence, she got such a jolt, I couldn’t stop laughing. She had no respect for the older fencer, ( also zareba) But she’s respecting this one. Doing its job.

Powerful and reliable
Great charger. Need it to protect chickens from coyotes and raccoons. Small area but it puts out 10,000 volts. The “5 mile” wouldn’t put out 5,000 volts consistently. This is overkill for my needs but better safe than sorry. Uses 2ah a day. I am charging a 12v battery with a 50 watt panel and everything works well together.

Keeps My Horses In!
We bought this fencer to keep a couple of fence-picking horses in their pasture. There is no electricity out there - too far away from the barn. So, we bought a deep cycle battery with a 100 Wattsolar panel with 40 amp charge controller. The fencer runs great and the horses are staying put. It packs enough juice that it actually zapped my pup when he went under it! ????
