A 'Gripping' Tale of Unmatched Stability

This is a long-term review - I have had this vice for over 2 years now. The Yost Vises LV-4 Homeowner's Vise has tightened its grip on my heart with its rock-solid performance. Good little vice

Added this one to all my other vices…Ahahahaha! Be aware that there is no mounting hardware. I used 3/8x1 1/2 inch lag bolts and lock washers from ace hardware to mount to my workbench.

The Vice is a bit smaller than what I expected but it works. It's fine for medium duty jobs.

Great vice.

Poor quality of materials.

The base snapped after a moderate application of force. To give you a frame of reference, the metal from which the base is made broke before any of the drywall screws that attached the vise to the workbench.

Great for the average user

It is a great little vice for your average home owner. It holds small items and does most things most people could ask of it. 4.5/5 on that part. That being said it does have some issues. There is a lot of slack and excessive slop in the parts. On my unit the threaded hole for the screw rod seems to be very large and when tightening it down it feels like it is going to slip. It is not smooth at all. This lowered the overall score to 3/5. But honestly, it is a $30 so what would you expect? That is why I said great for the average home owner. If you are a more demanding user you might want to shell out the cash for a better unit that will likely hold up much better.

me gustó esta prensa porque es de buena calidad, es barata y cumple la función. Aparte de la prensa de 4.5 pulgadas también incorpora una mordaza circular para cortar tubos. Sirve muy bien para trabajos de hogar. 100% recomendable!!.

Altamente recomendable. Llega empaquetado de manera adecuada, en una caja de cartón reforzada. Pintura de buena calidad. El acero expuesto y tornillos llegan lubricados. Gran calidad de material y funcionamiento.
