Comfortable/Durable River Floating Chair/Tube

My review would actually be about 4.5 stars if I could rate that way. This World of Watersports River Rover float has a well-made & sewn strong nylon fabric outer covering and has pretty heavy-gauge PVC inflatable inserts; however upon opening the box I learned it's Approx. Weight Limit is 170 lbs. You'd assume that these are NOT MADE FOR the AVERAGE AMERICAN ADULT MALE (191 lbs) & barely for the AVERAGE AMERICAN ADULT FEMALE (164 lbs). HOWEVER, I've blown these up and floated down our river several times (3-5 hour-long floats) and they have held their air and me just fine (I weigh considerably more than the average adult male!) I really hope my luck continues to hold. Some pros: Big one-piece chamber - the main wrap-around arm-piece part of the float has the speedy air valve that makes inflating and deflating very fast with a little pump. The upper back pillow is small and quick to inflate even though it only has the small standard valve and the footrest insert is the same way. This float is a SUPER COMFORTABLE RIDE for those folks who need good back support! The armrest and backrest are shorter in height so you feel like you sit a little higher up which is nice when you have to lean over them to pull a tag-along-cooler along side you and get out a beverage or do the back stroke while sitting in the float to pull yourself away to avoid floating into a fallen tree branch or rocky shoreline. Even with a fairly lousy back & neck and not a lot of lifting strength, I can still carry this float up a riverbank as long as I leave it inflated and dump all the water out of the nylon covering after floating. Cons, I suppose, would be that the cup/can/bottle holders aren't deep and wide enough (a cup holder on a floating device that's meant to be used on the river in hot weather should be deep and wide enough to hold an icy-cold can of pop or bottle of water (or whatever) that's in one of those thicker foam-insulated koozies; that should be a no-brainer for manufacturers of these devices). Also, I haven't personally been able to keep river water out of the two zippered cooler compartments that are built into the arm-rests, so I only use those coolers to store my bottle of sun screen or other items that can get wet with river water, but this isn't really a con for me personally because I have the wonderful Aqua Oasis Floating Beverage Cooler that I attach to my River Rover that keeps my beverages icy cold and has several deep can/bottle holders built in its base that keep the tops of my drink cans and water bottles free of river water. I haven't ever put anything such as a towel or t-shirt into the storage space that's available above the backrest because I'm not sure I could keep those things dry there, so I can't speak to that, but it's definitely roomy enough to hold sunscreen, flip-flops, or something in the largest plastic zip-storage bag. When I'm done floating, I completely dry out the arm-rest's zippered cooler compartments and cup holders by wiping them out with an old cotton t-shirt while everything's inflated. Then I deflate the the three inflatable inserts and pull them out of the nylon outer casing. I let the outer casing dry out completely, put the deflated inserts back in place and fold and roll the whole thing up and store until the next time I go floating (this really doesn't take long to do, and I suspect it will make this float last much longer if taken care of this way). Basically I'd say, I LOVE THIS FLOAT AND IT MAKES LONG FLOATS ON OUR RIVER ON HOT SUMMER DAYS SO FUN AND SO COMFORTABLE - I WOULD BUY TWO MORE IF AND WHEN WE NEED TO AND WOULD BUY TWO MORE JUST FOR THE HECK OF IT AND GIVE A FULL-THROATED FIVE STAR REVIEW IF WORLD OF WATERSPORTS would A.) makes these out of stronger materials so they have a higher Approx. Weight Limit rating than a measly 170 lbs. and B.) change their cup/can/bottle holder design to a much deeper & wider size!

Sturdy float

Bought this to replace another Wow ufloat that I can’t find anymore. I bought one of these last year and it held up. It’s seems sturdy and comfortable. We will see if it hold up over time!

1 bad apple.

ordered 2 floats, 1 didn't hold air ,3 days refilled and checked but still deflates in 4 hrs... i love these...i have purchased 5 so far,over 4 yrs.. renew each yr as they do wear out...but never before being used all summer. Would like some help with new 1.. i live in Mexico ship to Tucson and retrieve it and return to San Carlos,Mx 7 hrs each way, it cost me $120.00 in gas $80 hotel..i will not return bad item but hope you replace with non defective float.. contact me if you'll ship it to me without returning defective 1

I love this seat. I had had one very similar to this one. This one is all plastic where the other one had a cloth cover. That is why all 4 stars. I will buy again. Might seen a little expensive but if you live in your pool as I do well worth the money.

Not recommended for use as a lounger on a river: Broken tailbone as a result

The netting on the seat sinks very low in the water, making it awkward to a sit. It also presents a danger. Due to the low seating, my rear hit a rock under the surface of the water and broke my tailbone. I then spent the next three miles in excruciating pain until we could depart the water. X-rays showed the tailbone literally snapped off. Its been a month now and I still cant walk, stand or sit comfortably. This may have been averted with a stronger netting. Do not use as a lounger on a river. Its just not worth the risk. Also the cup holders are too small for anything larger than a 12 oz soda can. My water bottle did not fit. Other than that, I got a lot of compliments on the chair and it was fun to float in until injury.

Awesome Float!

This float is very comfortable. It handles waves very well and stays level so your drink doesn't spill. The material is very sturdy and well made. I very highly recommend this float to anyone. *Update* Brought this raft to the Cape this summer. We actually had it tied to a mooring in the bay for the 2 weeks we stayed in Truro. It held up great.

Déchire après quelques semaines

Malheureusement après 1 mois d'utilité, la doublure du siège s'est complètement déchirée. Impossible de pouvoir l'utiliser dorénavant. J'étais super contente du confort. La durabilité n'est pas bonne.

Very comfortable

Great product-very comfortable-it is more of a reclined position as opposed to sitting upright as much. Easy to inflate-but takes much longer to deflate.

Drink holder is misshapen, and therefore useless, when sitting on lounge.
