Cheap Waste of Money, Ignore other reviews

Needed it to do one simple job, temporarily cover an unused lightong box. The material feels like it's made of aluminum foil and it looks cheap too. Bends super easily and it's very low quality. If keep it if I spent $1-2 on it but $5 is way way too much for this cheap crap. Don't know why it has positive reviews. It also comes with very short screws so you'll probably have to buy longer screws to match. And because it's cheap it doesn't line up with the lighting box well either.

Plate cover

Easy to use and does the job. Do not over tighten as it will easily warp. Hand tighten the screws, best to not use a drill driver.

Seal up a disconnected outdoor electric box

I removed a driveway motion-detector light that was in a useless location due to a relocated wooden fence. We wanted to cover the now open splice box in the brick wall for aesthetics and to keep out insects. This plate is a little larger than the box, but that helps to cover all the chipped brick and sealant stains where the light had been. A good ring of silicone sealant around the edge of the plate before fastening it in place should provide waterproofing. The black objects on the photo are the screws to fasten the plate to the matching holes in the box. The plate comes in white only, but is paintable. I'm still working on what color to blend with our brick work.

Dimensions correct but only a flat plate

The dimensions for the plate were as expected, 4.75" diameter with a 3.5" bolt pattern spacing. However it was only a thin flat piece of sheet metal and not the expected concave cover plate. The plate was thin enough that when the screws were tightened against the electrical box the plate flared out around the drywall and left a visible gap around the perimeter of the plate. Me

Easy to use

I used this to cover a hole in my ceiling that had been wired for a ceiling fan. I took down the fan and popped this in its place. Easy to install and looks good.
