Good buy, but would be better if USA made
Bought to use with Lisle impact to remove slotted screws from tractor drum brakes. These tips seemed to work just fine. Ad for product said made in USA which would have been a bonus, but sadly it was made in china or taiwan

Unfit for hand impact tools -- but modifiable
Bought as a spare set the smallest flat blade was pressed into service when the other set went missing. The bit had never been used; in fact, none of the bits in the set have been used. The bit fit the set screw slot in a new Milwaukee hole saw blade holder slot completely and tightly. The set screw had been tighten by hand about a hour earlier and it was time to disassemble the hole saw for storage. Backed up by a steel vice anvil, using a 16 oz, hammer and a 3/8" manual impact tool, this bit shattered into three pieces with the first strike of the hammer. The blow was more than a tap and less than a whack. Clearly the metallurgy of this bit was faulty. The breaks showed the prominent crystalline structure of over-tempering. Perhaps this bit was at the top or the bottom of the batch during tempering. Perhaps the steel had an imperfection. There could be a reason why this was a fluke. However, the fact remains that this bit as received was utterly unfit for use with an impact tool. In fact, the next larger bit shattered after trimming its width a bit. Desperation, however, is the unsung father of invention. The larger bit it worked perfectly after using a tool grinder with a diamond wheel to reshape the remaining blade. In the FWIW department here's an opinion with only one fact (and perhaps a bit of physics) to back up the conclusion: The blades on these bits are too doggone long for use with a hand impact tool. Ignoring the fact that grinding heat can anneal over-tempered metal, the shorter blade worked simply because the shorter bade is less fragile and more able to handle the longitudinal impact of blows to a manual impact tool. Odds are that the 6" diamond wheel in the tool grinder didn't heat the bit very much. The tool and technique normally used for sharpening carbide and high carbon cutting tools avoids overheating which is sure to ruin a keen edge. All this leads to the conclusion that one should reduce the flat blade length before using these bits with a hand impact tool. How one might modify the phillips bits, however, remains a mystery to this pilgrim. January 2015

Reasonably priced, strong, high quality, basic 5/16 screwdriver bits.
IMPACT-8 Includes the following 1.262-inch long bits: Flat Tip bit, 1/4 x .040, 5/16 hex; Flat Tip bit, 5/16 x .050, 5/16 hex; Flat Tip bit, 3/8 x .055, 5/16 hex; Flat Tip bit, 1/2 x .080, 5/16 hex; P1 Philips bit, 5/16 hex; P2 Philips bit, 5/16 hex; P3 Philips bit, 5/16 hex and P4 Philips bit, 5/16 hex. The set has an included blue plastic holder and organizer. High quality bits from NAPA usually cost about $1.00 each but you must buy two. This set is equal quality with less spent. I used these bits with the Expert E113711 bit adaptor to adapt my Wilmar W1716 1/2 inch drive quick release finger ratchet to use 5/16 screwdriver bits. I also used these bits with a NAPA 7755957 bit adaptor to adapt my Wilmar W1716 3/8 inch drive quick release finger ratchet to use 5/16 screwdriver bits. The bits install properly in the bit adapters. The manufacturer indicates that S2 High Alloy Steel bits are the strongest and hardest bits available. The Bits are heat treated. I do not plan any impact uses, I use them for general home maintenance, and as an aid in reviewing finger ratchets, thumbwheel ratchets and palm ratchets. High Quality at low cost is hard to beat.

Nice quality, perfect fit for MERC 9.9 outboard lower end oil plugs
Nice quality. The second largest slotted fitting is a perfect fit for MERC 9.9 outboard lower end oil plugs, which can be a real pain to remove without the right flat head - use a ratchet handle.

Very Useful Accessory
These well made bits greatly increase the versatility of my hand impact driver. Very positive cost-benefit ratio.

The bits are durable and hold their shape
Durable. The bits didn’t show any wear when I used them on some very stuck screws. Gave them a real pounding and they were unmarked and unhurt.
