4 months on and no algae in the water at all
My pond is approximately 400 Gallons and the water is crystal clear. The pond also has a pressure filter, a small biofilter in the spillway 2 prefilters before the pumps so this filter isn't doing all the lifting, but it's doing it's job. So as far as controlling the algae is has been great. The only time the water in my pond has had any green in it was a when I had to turn this filter off for about 10 days. This works so well that when I turned it back on after that period my then green water turned brown in just 20 minutes, which meant it had killed all the free floating algae in that amount of time. It is back to crystal clear. This lightbulb, like the bulb in all UV filters is only good for a year, or 10 months really. IMPORTANT This filter is DESIGNED to limit the flow of water through it. It is not perfect though, so if you put too powerful of a pump on it it may stop working, as it takes time to kill algae. If you connect a pump to large to it, you won't get much of the extra flow so it's a waste of money. Most importantly, a pump too large can even burn out it is connected inline with the filter. I had this happen to me. This was my fault so I don't hold it against the filter. I had this originally installed inline with my pressure filter and spillway a 800-900 GPH (sorry I can't remember exactly what it was) pump. This was a huge headache until I figured I out what was going on, it would stop working every week or so and had to be power cycled, and in the end it broke the pump. I ended up with a 1200 GPH pump through the pressure filter to my spillway, which looks great, and a 550 GPH pump that goes to my UV filter then a pair of spitters. The only criticism I have about this device is I wish they would have designed it to fit directly on to other tetra products, instead of having to connect everything with a hose. I had wanted originally wanted to connect it directly to my pressure filter, that would not have been a good setup in the end for me because I wanted more flow than that would have allowed, but the option would still be nice.

I replaced the 5w bulb to a 9w, also added a net to keep the leaves out.
The media could not be loaded. Overall, Tetra Pond GreenFree Ultraviolet Clarifier appears to be a highly effective and reliable solution for clearing green water in outdoor ponds. It can help you enjoy a more beautiful and healthy pond environment and appreciate the beauty of your fish more clearly.

Kills algea dead
Easy to install and cleared up our 160 gallon pond in about 4 days. We already had a water fall feature so I just cut the line between the pump and the waterfall and inserted the UV clarifier. It doesn'tseem to add much of any back pressure as the water still comes out at the same rate. Prior to installation we could hardly see our fish below the water surface. It was clearer on day one and gained a foot of visibility each day. Make sure to clean the mechanical filter frequently right after installation to get rid of the dead algea. After that I hardly have to clean it. Well packaged with the bulb double wrapped which is good because the delivery chucked it at the door.

Check the light before hooking it up
Returned for a replacement will update if replacement works. I assumed since I was buying a new product, it would all work correctly and I hooked it all up tight, since water is running through it. I cut the hoses to fit, added plumber tape, hose clamps etc. then found out the light didn't work. Bought a replacement light, that didn't work either. Now I have to unhook it all and replace the whole thing. Should of purchased from local pet store for same price and way less waisted time.

It works!
After killing my goldfish with sulfate treatment for algae in my pond I bought new gold fish but the algae was terrible so I tried a safe for fish algea bacteria. It did absolutely nothing. Then a friend recommended this uv light. My pond went from green slime to crystal clear in 2 weeks.

Works like a charm
Right out of the gate, the bulb doesn't work. I bought a replacement and will unashamedly be putting the useless bulb in the box and getting a refund. EDIT: The bulb does work! I couldn't see it during the daytime through the view finder. But at night, it is glowing. Plus my pond is already clearing up! Update 6/11/22 I left this out all winter long unplugged thrown around as if a kid was in charge (which I am not recommending)! I thought for sure it would not have worked as a result of my laziness. But low and behold, I plugged it in and voila I saw the light! This light is very dim and you need to check it in a dim/dark location. I hooked it up this morning to the pond which is about 500-600 gallons and I can already see the bottom of it!

This worked perfectly!
It took some tinkering to get it attached to my pump and filter but once I did, it cleared the water right up. It took a couple of days but the water has remained clear. I’m really happy with this. By the way, the one I received first was Incomplete. The seller made it right immediately.

Must BUY!!!
So convenient and easy to set up hopefully the bulb for the UV lasts and the crystal glass lasts too! To early to tell if filter is working I will try to update when the weather gets warmer (Algae) Will try to upload pictures too later this April or whenever Winter is over……..! Support Climate Change!!!
