Very good tool at a great price
I received this Sunex 8804m Stud Remover Set yesterday and was very happy with the quality of the packaging and the tool right out of the box. That said, I had to put it to the test immediately to see if this bargain-priced set could perform as well as the Matco set I had previously borrowed. Again, I was VERY happy with this Sunex set; it performed just as expected. I am NOT a professional mechanic. I do NOT make a living off of my tools. In need of a good stud remover kit, I was prepared to spend $85 to get my own Matco SR101 kit that I had borrowed from a mechanic friend last month. Before I spent my money, I searched for similar items and found, amongst others, this Sunex kit. There is VERY little info available anywhere on this Sunex kit and no reviews so I figured I would roll the dice and test this kit. I am VERY happy to report that I am VERY happy with this Sunex Kit after pulling 10 studs with it on the day I received it. This kit was well worth the $33 shipped. PROS: Low price, heavy duty molded case, uses a similar if not the same binder mechanism that the Matco stud remover set uses to grip the stud, does NOT damage threads, removes AND installs studs. CONS: Made in China (what isn't), warranty not as good as a tool truck brand. For a hobbyist mechanic, this is the best value for your dollar. If you are a professional mechanic, you may notice that these removers weigh just a bit less than the Matco kit and may conclude that they are of lesser quality; maybe they are, maybe they are not. Hard to say without using this kit on a daily basis. If you must have a name brand, by all means spend away. If you are looking to pull a few studs and save some money BUY THIS SUNEX 8804M KIT.

they are OK, probably better at inserting new as opposed to removing old and rusty studs, least in my case as they wouldn't grab the threads with enough torque.

Very Cheap Internals
Don’t waste your money on this one. It broke on the first usage and as you can see from the photo, they are using absolute garbage metal for the internal cam mechanism. This should be a machined part inside, not weak cast metal. This should be removed from Amazon!

Worked for extracting a few exhaust manifold studs from an old Toyota. I wish it were easier to remove the studs from the pullers once out, but at this price point, its a minor detail.
