The closest to perfect a deck box will get.

If you haven’t already go and Check out the professors review of these on the Tolarian Community College YouTube channel. He sums up why they’re amazing far more elegantly than I ever could. That being said, it can’t hurt to try. I applied his methods of testing them and everything held up exactly as it did in his videos. The only times this deck box would ever open for me during the shake/drop test was specifically when I dropped it on the corner of the detachable magnet lid. And even then the lid would only pop open a little to half way. As a side note, I play a card game where my cards are Japanese size, double sleeved, and quite bulky, yet this deck box held them just fine. If you’re looking for an excellent quality deck box to keep your cards in that won’t let ya down, I highly recommend either this or the sidekick line of deck boxes.

Good, but the Sidekick is better

Bought this and the Sidekick, both from Gamegenic, but returned this one. The Sidekick is just easier to put your deck in and out of. The Squire is very tall, making it more likely to spill your cards when pulling out your deck. That's it.

Best Bang for your Deck Box Buck

This is my second Squire and I have no complaints with either. Found them from a review by The Professor at Tolarian Community College and his recommendation did not disappoint. The covers on these are very secure, its almost impossible to shake the cover off if you are really trying to do so on purpose, a normal drop is very unlikely to dislodge it. The inside is nicely lined and easily holds a full commander deck of 100 sleeved cards and some tokens. I've had one for a couple years and the other for a few months and they are not fraying or separating as some deck boxes do over time.

Probably won't fit a double sleeved 100 card deck

I have seen mixed reviews about people saying the boxes they got don't fit 100 double-sleeved cards. Others said their boxes could. For me, I couldn't fit 100 double-sleeved cards into this box. I used Dragon Shield Sealable Inner Sleeves and Dragon Shield Duel Matte Outer Sleeves. I was able to fit about 90 or so cards in the deck box before it became a struggle and the cards needed to be forced in. I even ended up pushing too hard and damaged one of my card sleeves. So to fix this, I took out the inner sleeves from some of my cards. My deck has 18 basic land cards, so without the inner sleeves for those 18 cards, the rest of the deck was able to comfortably fit in the box. So if you are using double-sleeved Dragon Shields, then you probably will need to remove some inner sleeves to make them all fit.

Great Box- But Not Dragon Shield Friendly

There’s a lot of things I love about this deck box: the space-saving design is intuitive and effective, the materials are extremely high quality and sturdy, the magnets are strong enough for a secure hold, and the lids can be mixed and matched with other Gamegenic Squires to boot! (Guild color combinations, yay!) However, there is one catch: the box is extremely snug and will not comfortably accommodate a 100-card deck with thicker sleeves, such as Dragon Shields. Although I technically could fit my deck into it, it had to be split into multiple sections and the last few cards consistently feel just a little too close to being squeezed in. This is no fault of the deck box itself, as this is more an issue of the unusual thickness of Dragon Shield sleeves. Still, I would have preferred just a little more room, as even thinner-sleeved decks could make use of the extra space for tokens. If you use thinner sleeves- Ultra Pro comes to mind- or if you single-sleeve your deck, this is a fantastic option for a compact deck box and I could not recommend it enough.

Beautiful, but a tiny bit too small

Love this product. Beautiful and beautifully made. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it's about 1/4 of an inch too short to hold 100 double-sleeved cards. The 100 can be made to fit, but too tight for comfort.

Fits KMC inners, will NOT fit Dragon Shield sealing inners.

As the title states, extra thicc inner sleeves will make a 100 card EDH deck too fat to fit in this box. KMC Perfect Fit + Dragon Shield outers WILL fit though, so this is a very specific nitpick. Another is that the magnets are visible through the orange fabric on the box itself. It IS very secure though, and decks that fit in it are definitely sitting in above-average luxury. Exterior texture is pleasant, but time will tell how it weathers. I really wish it was juuuuust a little bit bigger, though.

Nice box, but fabric scuffs easily

This is a pretty nice premium box. I have yet to see any other manufacturer have this style of deck box where the lid can wrap around the box. However, the textured fabric does get scuffed pretty easily on mine. I am unaware of a way to clean it of the white streaks it developes. Almost wish it had a more basket ball texture over the fuzzy-ish cloth texture.

It works as described

5 stars because it was 20 bucks, holds my commander deck and a few tokens. Rigid box as well as sturdy.

Great design

Strong magnets and the out-of-your-way design; There is no flap on the deck box that flops close. I can even leave the deck box open without it taking much table space. I have paired this pink colour with the green one to make a watermelon candy colour scheme
