Work well!
Good for those broken bolts that won’t come out, soak first with penetrating oil then start your drilling. Most of the time that broken bolt will back right out.

Worth the money
More durable and does the job faster than any Milwaukee or Dewalt drill bits

Very solid
I bought these by mistake and had to return them but I noticed that they feel more solid than my Dewalt drill bits. When I need new bits, I’ll buy this set.

Look really nice
I haven't had a chance to use them yet, but they look really nice.

Backed out burred screw just fine
I burred the head on a hardened steel Torx screw on the base of my rifle scope. I read on Snipers Hide forum that drilling it out with a left handed thread drill bit could work. I saw these on Amazon and though the price was a little steep I bought them because I couldn't sell my rifle with a damaged scope base. Best move I've had buying tools. On the other hand, I had a heck of a time getting into the hard plastic packaging. I literally had to beat it with a hammer to break into the packaging. They need to fix that problem.

Nice durable set
I just received this drill set to replace old and or broken bits. Price seemed reasonable for what you get. Haven’t had a chance to use these quite yet, but first impressions are good. Set contains a good quantity of bit size, the drill bit case is nice and each bit appears well made. I will repost if these don’t live up to manufacturing marketing.

Decent set, case could be better. Not indestructible bits.
I lost a bit when my drill tipped over. To be fair, this isn't normal use, but it is the first time I've had a bit break like that. Other than that, the case could have a better clasp. It would be difficult for someone with only one hand to open/close the case (due to handicap or just holding groceries with the other)

Outstanding Drill Bits If Used Correctly
Most people don't know how to properly drill into metal so they destroy bits in no time. These are excellent bits made with M35 cobalt so they are more user friendly than M42 bits and very durable if used properly. No way you could get a set of this quality any better at this price.

They did the job perfectly
Good quality sharp drill bits made in the USA. They did the job really well.

Good quality drill bits
Good quality drill bits, handy for removal of a snapped bolt in a car engine, being a left handed thread. Cobalt can be brittle, but with care it did the job nicely for me and I used a drilling and cutting oil.

Did what it said on label
Good quality

Not lived up to the name
Correct use in slow speed reverse and the 5/32 bit died on first day of use. Took the remnants out of the chuck to inspect and "made in Brazil" have I just paid over the odds for a knock off?

Quality control problems
I looked around and for most reviews a lot of people liked the Irwin Tools drill bits, Norseman and a couple of others. To that end I bought this set because I found it's price was good at the time. When I received the drill set I took a quick look at them and instantly noticed that there were different length drills in the set. We are use to see each drill shorter than the diameter above it but in this case there were a few of them all over the place for length. That immediately made me think (as a production manager) that there had been some bad bits which were swapped out with different length bits. Regular bits, jobber bits etc can have different lengths. That was my first warning that there were quality control issues. I then looked at the tips of the drill bits which all looked good. However once I got away from the immediate split tip I noticed that many of the other faces had either micro chips out of them or burred or rounded edges. The tip would cut well but further out on the other faces were poor cutting edges. These would likely not cut, while the tiny tip would cut. I contacted Irwin tools about the few bits which were bad and they wanted me to send them in for inspection. I was hoping pictures that clearly showed new bits with the IRwin name stamped on them along with no use, but damaged cutting edges would be enough. In this case the cost of sending the bits in will be as much as if I just buy new bits off the store to replace them. I explained that and received no answer back. I am now left with sending in 4-5 bits 3,000 miles and who knows what will happen from there, or just buy new ones myself and be sure I bought good tips. I happen to fix a lot of items under a microscope so I looked at these and I can tell that the machining to cut them has been let go too long and that has resulted in forced cutting by dull bits which is why there are chips out on the leading edges. The center tips were all good so that tooling was probably changed out when needed. good things can come out of china but all too often they like to extend the life of tooling past it's best stages and unless Irwin does random inspections of its tools at stores and online shippers they will only see the samples the manufacture wants them to see. Our company dealt with chinese manufacturers for a while but they were constantly giving us good samples and then changing the manufacturing process to different materials and speeds of production where the results were bad. We gave up after a while and paid higher to have our products largely made out of north america where we had better communication and control of what was happening. You get what you paid for. My suggestion is that if you are buying these from a store, take a small magnifying glass and look closely at the cutting surfaces and you will likely find one box good and the next bad. At least that way you can pick out the better examples.
