Unique gift for the hard to shop for
These are expensive, and there is no fluoride (if you care), and not really designed to freshen your breath, but for those who are tired of the same old mint flavors, or have teeth that need a tamer flavor, these flavors are interesting. I like the black licorice especially. Some flavors take some getting use to.

I keep missing the more intense mint flavor of domestic toothpastes
Weird. I got it into my head that I just didn't like the new plastic tubes for Colgate and Crest and the rest so I asked friends if anyone still put toothpaste in metal tubes. Marvis was recommended and I ordered the sample pack. The toothpaste is okay, kind of like "toothpaste lite" as it is lacking a tad bit of a mild abrasive like most domestic pastes and the flavor profile isn't very intense. But if money is no object you should give Marvis a try and decide for yourself. For my needs, well, I'm underwhelmed and won't buy again. But you will need to decide for yourself.

My new favorite toothpaste
I discovered Marvis in a gift shop in Galena, Il. I was intrigued by the packaging, enough to buy some! Love the multi-flavors and travel sizes. Leaves a super fresh feeling in my mouth!

Fun! Makes me want to brush.
I bought this to try out the different flavors. I am motivated to brush my teeth with these because it’s fun to rotate tastes.

Boujie!
Feels fancy and the flavors are fun. Not overly foamy like Crest or Colgate, so pass if you like your mouth sizzling with super foamy toothpaste. It’s clean and taste great.

Active ingredient and flavor breakdowns
Ok. Let me break down the flavors and ingredients. First off, the main ingredient that does all the work is sodium laureth sulfate, which you should know is 'soap'. SLS is the main workhorse in most soaps and shampoos you'll buy in the store. It cuts through grease and lathers nicely also is cheap to get, so many cleaning products use this as their main ingredient. So instead of using fluoride (these toothpastes don't have any) to clean your mouth, you're using soap. Now, that being said, these don't taste like soap. They all have a more "mildness" to them than regular toothpastes, less of the zing that fluoride usually feels like. Now here's a breakdown of all the flavors individually by color. Blue: Imagine a toothpaste made out of diluted Lifesavers mints or Certs, that's what the blue tastes like, it's minty and smooth. My third favorite out of the sampler. Red: Imagine a toothpaste that tastes like Big Red gum, but more smooth and no intensity, just a nice cinnamon flavor with all it's bouquet notes. My favorite out of the sampler. Green: Imagine a toothpaste made with crushed up Altoids. If you're unfamiliar with altoids, it's a smooth mint flavor with a hint of clove. Not bad, my second favorite of the bunch. Silver: Honestly tastes like any other off the shelf toothpaste. Minty, intense, and does the job with a shade or two of whitening after about a week of brushing. Purple: I was disappointed with this one. All the reviews raved about how awesome it was, so I gave it to my wife to try and she did not like it. She took it to work and everyone at work thought it was gross too. I tried it and it literally tastes like chewing on flower petals. If you ever as a child tried to eat a flower, that's exactly what this toothpaste tastes like. Orange and Black: I can't muster up the courage to try either of these, I'm not a fan of either flavor and I honestly bought the sampler so I could try all the others. These two just sit lonely in a drawer till I find some eccentric friend to give them too as a gift.

Nice variety of flavors & great "from the dentist" clean feeling!
Marivs toothpaste has a really nice variety of flavors depending on your mood and it leaves your mouth feeling like you just had a professional dental cleaning! The kit comes with 7 flavors to sample and lasts 6-8 months with a twice daily brushing. They are the perfect size for travel and more oz than the sample sizes most dentists usually give you. The flavors are: Amarelli Licorice, Aquatic Mint, Cinnamon Mint, Classic Strong Mint, Ginger Mint, Jasmine Mint and Whitening Mint. The flavors do not really compare to traditional toothpastes like Crest or Colgate because they do not taste sweet (except the licorice flavor) and they do not foam up. The Amarelli Licorice is very very mild in terms of licorice and has a slightly sweet taste and I liked it the best. All the mint flavors had a bit of pepperiness and kick to them and they were not sweet so I only preferred them when I wanted to wake up a dry morning mouth after a late night or to cover up after a meal with onions and garlic. Aquatic Mint was similar to Crest Max Fresh blue tooth gel but without any sweetness or foam. Cinnamon Mint had a slight peppery taste but no where near as cinnamon as Close-up. Classic Strong Mint was similar in mint flavor to to Altoids. Ginger Mint had a bit of kick and pepperiness like ginger does. Jasmine Mint was the mildest of the mints and had a very faintly floral jasmine tea taste (which is great if you want to compliment the perfume in your lotion or shampoo or on your body). Whitening Mint was not as peppery and reminded me of most whitening toothpaste.

"Starter Pack" - I guess ..
Love the packaging and have decanted collection into a bowl in the shower and select a flavour at random - great fun - particularly as I have leave my glasses outside the shower. The flavours are all less intense than you might at first imagine and Marvis is the "toothpaste of the moment" so you'll be in with the in crowd even if you don't know it or want to be. The Liqorice one is surprisingly nice - mostly minty with just a hint of liquorice. Very pleased even though was quite scared of combo at first. You must try them ... good cleansing effect. They are Italian which surprised me as the name seemed French.

A beautiful gift to your teeth
I have not used any other tooth paste since I discovered Marvis tooth paste few years back. I have a sweet tooth so this assortment of toothpaste is perfect. Beautifully presented so perfect for gift as well. There are 7 mini toothpastes so I use Jasmine Mint ( my favourite, quite flowery) on Mondays, Liquorice ( I don't like liquorice but this is very pleasant) for Tuesdays, Ginger ( I hate ginger but this is also surprisingly pleasant) for Wednesdays, Classic mint for Thursdays .......and Aquatic Mint ( aquatic!) for Sundays. Only wish Marvis produces fruity version as well.. If you get bored of usual mint flavour or bored of brushing teeth, this assortment is definitely worth a try! A beautiful gift to your teeth!

Hit and miss. 50% less variety than expected.
Three of the flavours - Jasmine, Liquorice and Cinnamon - are nice and unusual. The other four, including the "Ginger" are really just different versions of mint as found in other toothpaste: "freshmint", "strong mint', "peppermint", "mint', etc. With Ginger, it's almost as if they put the wrong flavour in the tube... I can't sense even a hint of it; just mint.

A wee bit unusual!
I tried cinnamon mint previously when .y supermarket stopped stocking my favourite herbal toothpaste. I do t really like minty toothpaste I find it quite burny to be honest. I thought I'd give the travel set a go to try the other flavours but I bought jasmine mint and amarelli licorice too to try. I lived cinnamon mint so I can't wait to give these a go! Nicely package in a simple plastic sleeve, quite a novel gift for a frequent traveler perhaps or someone who really likes clean teeth!
