Quality Product

Our home was built in the late 1960's. The original cedar shingle siding was dated, worn and required either painting or replacement. We chose to replace it, and did so with Hardie Plank. We took the opportunity to replace all the exterior fitments on the home as-well (mailslots, door knobs, door knockers, door bell buttons, house numbers, exterior lights, etc...). The main entry of our home has a magazine style (13") mailslot in the front door and we chose to install a Schlage Greenwich Exterior Handleset to complement the updated Schlage interior handles on the rest of the home. We paired the exterior handleset with a 'closet door' handle that we already had, and used a deadbolt that was left from our interior door to our garage (we had purchased 4 matching exterior door sets with deadbolts from our local builder store). The finish on the handleset is excellent, and the feel of the product in your hand is solid. Function of the thumb lever is smooth and positive. Worthy of note: The main entry door of our home is wood and original to the home. The door handle and deadbolt openings in the door were smaller than modern door knobs, and required the openings to be enlarged to support the new handleset. After a little research, I found that the local builder store (Lowes) had a product in stock that would make the job EASY... so I made a trip to the builder store and purchased a "DEWALT Bi-Metal Door Lock Installation Kit". It can be found on Amazon as-well. I would recommend checking the size of the openings in your door, and ordering the lock installation kit if needed to simplify the job.

Good lockset. No screw cap or I would give 5 stars.

Solid quality. Love the look. Different Schlage sets have different mechanisms for the deadbolt lock. Though I hadn't planned on changing the interior, but I ended up needing to buy a new deadbolt for the interior because of that. Maybe the product website could have been clearer, but I'll take that as my fault for not researching thoroughly. The only complaint i have is that I believe that the interior screw cap should have come with this set because this is the set with the handle. Would you expect it with your interior lockset? No. The only reason you need a screw cap is to cap the screw that comes with this set. I was, however, able to order a screw cap from another site for $5.

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AVAILABLE BY PHONE

The beautiful handle was matched with a Schlage door knob at the interior. Handle was bought for a remodel- bought July 2018, installed January 2019. The lock refuses to work from the inside or outside after a few trips, 2 or 3. The builder could not find a reason. I tried to reach Schlage at product support number 4 times- no success. No way to leave a message. Schlage does not answer. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AVAILABLE BY PHONE. I contacted Amazon to see if they had another number. Number was correct. We put Schlage products through the remodel. Only one problem.

Cheeper then the home improvement store

Fast delivery, looks great. Buying the exterior handles separate from the interior is actually good because you can pick your interior style. Cheeper to buy separate on amazon then any home improvement store in my area.

2 problems

this did not come with an interior knob The nut side of the lower screw was blocked and could not be tightened

Beautiful, But Missing A Lot of Pieces

This is a very beautiful handle set and seems like good quality. However, that being said, this particular model is missing a lot of hardware that is shown in the instructions. We had to go get a bunch of new pieces from the store to be able to install this and it took a long time. Even the decorative screw cap is not included in this set, even though it says it is in the instructions. Now we are left with a nut and bolt showing on the inside of our new door (this is the picture I put up). Definitely not happy with that, and not sure how to cover that.
