I Love this clock!

I ordered this clock as it is a Bulova which has always been my preferred time piece. This model is very cost effective and due to that I really wasn't sure about the quality. The case is wood and the stain is perfect. No imperfections noted anywhere. It has been keeping perfect time for nearly 24 hours. No whirring sounds from the batteries, no ticking sounds from the pendulum. The lines are clean and the face is easy to read. As for the chimes, it sounds just like a floor model grandfather clock with deep, melodic tones. This clock far surpasses my expectation in every way! If there is ever a problem with the chime not matching the hour, there are many Youtube channels with step by step instructions. I highly recommend this clock!

Great look and sound!

We have a grandfather clock that stopped chiming and it’s expensive to repair! But we missed the sound of the chimes so we ordered this clock and it’s really wonderful. The Westminster chimes sound so close to the grandfather clock’s and cost so much less than a repair: win-win!

Nice little clock!

My old chime clock finally was irreparable. I was going to invest in a new Howard Miller time clock but then thought I would try out some thing electronic. After reviewing several different clocks I settled on this one because of some of the features including a choice in time, volume control, a shut off for nights (if you want to) and the size was small enough for my spot. The pros: I love the smaller size, the chime is fairly delicate at the volume that I use so it is not overpowering near the TV, the clock face is easy to visualize in my darker room, the pendulum swings and has a light tick, the wood finish is deep and rich looking. The cons: Setting the clock for the proper time takes some patience and a good read of the instructions but once set I am anticipating I won’t have any more issues until the batteries die, all of the controls are on the back of the clock instead of on the side as some clocks have necessitating taking it off of the wall and removing the backboard to be able to make adjustments, the hour strike (not the melody) is not as deep atone as I would like but I’m getting used to it after a week. I will say that I was not very happy with the way that Amazon packed this. It’s in its own box which they put into a much larger box with at least 10 inches of fall space on either side of it and no bubble wrap or bubble insulation in the box. As I was opening it I was very concerned that I might find a disaster but fortunately Bulova had adequate wrapping on their box that it took the slings and drops that UPS tends to do. Extra stars for Bulova on that one! I would highly recommend this clock. At a price point just a bare minimum above $100 it certainly is what I consider an excellent choice!

Very nice clock for the price!

The media could not be loaded. I really like this clock! The features are intact and the chime is very nice. I would recommend this as a gift to anyone who is looking for a nice clock but not as expensive.

Its time for this clock!

This clock is absolutely gorgeous! Wooden, not plastic, beautiful golden pendulum, accurate time keeping too! And the BEST is it has three choices for the chime! You dont hear it tick, just chime beautifully! Even has a way to cut the chime at night, if you care to! And Bulova….? Cant beat that, great price for an outstanding clock! Love it!

Beautiful clock with charm and modest style

The media could not be loaded. had this clock for two weeks love it. i was skeptical when i ordered it, but after trying the chime settings such as 4x4 westminister, hourly westminister bing bong and ave maria it worked great. The chime can be set to come on at 6.00am and off at 10.00pm or 24 hr chime and if you want it off then it can be turned off. i turned it off for about a week and then back on and it chimed correctly on the hour. it is light weight and because it has to be taken of the wall to access the chime control and other settings its not cumbersome to do that. it would have been nicer to have a door that could be opened on the front to access the controls for on and off, as well as settings for chime melody. the volume control can be set low enough so that when it comes on at 6.00 am it will not disturb you if you're sleeping depending on where it is in your home the low volume setting has a very light chime sound. so far so good and i hope it will work for years to come, it isn't like a traditional mechanical clock which i would like to have, but it is very close and stylish to the real thing. in closing i will say the name Bulova says it all very high quality stylish clock.

Authentic sound

I quote the look and the authentic sound of the Westminster sound. Only problem i found is that the quarterly hour setting for the chime does not work. Apart from that, I love it. Thank you x

Very high quality

This is a very high quality clock! It is extremely accurate over time. Not all quartz movements are the same when it comes to accuracy, but the quartz movement in this clock is very accurate, which makes me believe it is a higher quality manufactured unit. I am a long time aficionado of watches and clocks, and the first test you should do when it comes to assuring the highest quality of a timekeeping device is to verify how well it was manufactured and produced by observing how well the hour and minute hand match up with the exact time on the hour, making sure that both the hour hand and minute hand match up exactly in the middle of the numbers. It is best to observe the hand positioning during a 24 hour period, to be sure it is the same for different hours. This clock is spot on, which shows the hands were installed with care. It is amazing how many watch and clock hands are not! The wood has a high quality look to it, and the staining is consistent throughout. The chimes on the clock sounds very much the way a mechanical clock should sound, all the way to even how the vibration of the strike slowly dissipates. There were absolutely no minor scratches or imperfections of any type anywhere on the clock. Very nice clock, well worth the money!

-adjustable chime Time feature lacking

It's a great clock it looks good ultimately though it is just a electronic clock behind some nice looking wood . What particular exceptional quality the electronics are I'm not really sure. But it does sound nice and it looks nice only problem is the chiming only has two options as to weather or not to play. It can be on 24 hours a day or it can be on from 5:45 a.m. till 11 p.m. I was hoping that feature would be adjustable. Where I could have dusted to be between 6 and 6 or 6 and 10 whatever I want. But the fact that it's restricted to only those two options of all the time or 5:45 and 11 p.m. it interferes with my sleep patterns and I can't really have it on. turning the time on and off also takes removing it from the wall and placing it back up which I always get nervous about dropping and breaking it. A external button for turning the chime on and off would be awesome I may jerry-rig something. Because all in all it is a nice clock perhaps a little overpriced but

A Great Addition to the Decor of the Lining room

The media could not be loaded. Love the clear crisp chimes of this clock. Chimes work on 1/4 of the hour and refrain during the night as we have chosen the 4 x 4 setting that controls when it comes on. We like the fact we can also control how loud the chimes play so the neighbours on the other side of the wall are not disturbed. Love the ornate feature of the clock. It fits in very well with the decor of our living room. I have nothing bad to say about this purchase. If you are thinking of getting a clock that chimes, this is the one for you!!!
