Not as comfortable as the Rockports I remember!
1. Pay attention to whom you get these shoes from, because price and shipping can vary greatly! Some sizes will ship as "Prime", other as "free shipping included", and still others as no free shipping at all. I got these boot (size 9 3E, brown) for $98 a couple of weeks ago. When I first clicked on the list of boot options, I saw the Prime logo! I then saw it said "free shipping included". That past was true, but when I wanted to return the boots (see why below), shipping to return was on me! I found out these shipped from a store in Chicago called "Heart & Sole". I called to see about free return shipping, but the guy said sorry - did you read the shipping policy? Ah no -- does anyone? And besides it is very generic on not specific to any one retailer. You think I will ever order a product from them again? Amazing... All the guy had to do was to say "I know the online information is confusing, let me pick up the return shipping" - and he would have had a return customer in the future. Not anymore! The guy certainly doesn't know how to keep a good Amazon business going! 2. The boots, as another reviewer said, runs large in the toes area, and actually a bit small (but ok) in the heel. The insoles are not well padded as I remember Rockports use to be (when they were made in the US?). After walking around the house for 5 minutes may heel began to get feel it! That was why I was going to return these. They look great, and for our mild So. California "winters" they should hold up. 3. Conclusion: Because returning them seems to be more trouble than it's worth, I plan to keep them and just either ware them with thick socks and/or get a cushy insole insert. But no more Rockports, and no more of this retailer!

Rockport comes through again for me. I wear size 13, wide, preferably extra wide. Going to a store to purchase shoes is a drag because they never have my size and, they can order it, but only if I can get the minimum wage guy to figure out how. Online ordering is a Godsend, especially from Amazon with its two day shipping, free return policy but Rockport does its part by making quality stuff that is always the correct size. I know my size, I order some random Rockport I life, in my size (which they have...no hassle) and two days later shoes come that fit perfectly. I only once had a problem with Rockports. I ordered steel toed shoes from SEARS in a shoe I already own, non-steel toe. They insert the toe lining into the shoe and base the size on the show. Problem is, this lining is solid steel. Unlike leather, it's not going to give....ever. Sears gave me a hassle rather than a refund....even though it was their job to explain stuff like that to me as I'm their measuring my foot for that purpose. If you need steel toe, order at least one size higher and probably an extra size wide to accommodate the insert. And buy it from Amazon. Worst case scenario, you can return it hassle free for the correct size.

Great looking casual boot for jeans
Love the look of this boot. Was looking g fir something that could be worn with jean and a button down shirt. Sporty look be very very casual. The fit is great. Even though boot hasn't been worn and only tried on but fit, feel and look is great! I originally ordered the wide about 3 or 4 months ago thinking whats the big deal. I had to because the regular M was out. I thought how big if a difference could there be in a W vs M. Big difference. I had to take it back the next day. Boot has really been on my mind to order again. Happy I ordered when I got my boot in. No creases from sitting in the box and no leather scratches. Very happy

Pretty Good Boot!
The Lockport Northfield WP Plain Toe Chukka is a well made boot. I ordered a size 8, but the boot runs a little large. My toe does not touch the front of the boot, where it would in other size 8 boots. I like the width of the boot. These boots are slightly uncomfortable, because the insert is not very thick. I'm sure if I add an aftermarket shoe insert, the comfort will increase dramatically as well as the fit too. I like the material the boot is made from. I also like that I can polish these boots. I would buy them again, but in black.

Comfortable, But Soles Are Worthless
I wear a 4E or XWide shoe. Not always easy to find a boot in this width. I found these Rockports. I got mine in early May. They are very comfortable and I wore them all day on my job. BUT (big but here), the soles on these boots are horrible. In 5 months they have completely worn smooth and chipped away on the edges. The soles are now very thin. Comfort level - 5 Stars. Sole quality - 1 Star. I paid $85 for these boots on Amazon on May 5, 2020. The price is now $125. I can't justify the $40 increase for a pair of boots that will be great for about 1-2 months before they start deteriorating again. I'd gladly spend the money if the quality was there. C'mon Rockport... you're better than this.

Some good but mosly disapoointed. Soft leather and very (VERY) comfortable however, the sole lug pattern wears down very very fast. Expect 6 months use and the lug area will be worn down to no traction. In dry conditions that is not an issue however in wet conditions or mud you will slip. Its too bad because they made a very comfortable boot that will not last. If you want to spend $90 for 5-6 month boots then great however the soles are very delicate and will not hold up to hard use. Too bad

Great Boot but, the laces.....
These boots are excellent but, the laces are terrible! After about a month, the laces are starting to fray ... Rockport needs to look into this as its not just these boots! My Rockport Northfield shoes' laces did the same thing .. the laces fray very easily!! Also, I have found that the laces do not stay tied - loosen very easily even if tied quite tight! But, overall the fit and look are amazing ... but, I need to buy some new laces....

Nice shoes
I wear these shoes daily to work and going out casual. They are very comfortable all day long. This has to be my 10th or 12th pair I’ve purchased. You simply can’t do better.

bad tread for winter
The boot looks and feels good. However the tread is horrible for the snow or slush. I slip constantly while people I am walking with do not. I walk a lot and this is never an issue for me in any other footwear. The tread is rounded so I think this is the problem. Not recommended for winter wear in the cit. Also the boot is not insulated so it is not for very cold days.
