Beautiful item, if it showed up in better condition.
This was supposed to be a gift but ended up keeping it for myself due to its issues. I was only able to give it a three because its poor presentation upon delivery. The cane itself already had a curve to it, while I expected it to develop one from use, I wanted him to receive it perfect. Also the holder it came with was completely destroyed. The top by the Velcro area looked moth eaten with holes, and the cane slid right out of a hole in the bottom of the pouch too. As an implement though I give this a high rating. Again, I would recomend turning while you use it to prevent major bends. The cane to me was stingy and precise, a bit heavy not light like rattan or bamboo.

Punishment at its finest
This rod is not for the faint of heart. of all my toys, this one is feared the most and reserved only for true punishment. Use this responsibly. Practice before using it on someone. It does what it is designed to do. A small swat goes a long way! I truly enjoy the feel of the handle but it is on the thinner side. The wrist cord comes in handy. If you need a thicker grip, wrap 550 cord around the handle. It comes with a black cloth cover that velcros shut. I'm very satisfied with my purchase!

Looks Scary but breaks under its own weight
While the handle is strong, the part of the cane that is actually meant to hit bent itself just from the weight of the first test swing. I was able to bend it back into a similar shape but now exists as an unfulfill-able threat when I have my toys layed out before a willing victim. Unfortunately it is nothing more than a scary looking paper weight.

Works as a prop or for real
Certainly made for business, not for newbies, this "rod" will produce deep thud and lasting ouch! Get for someone looking for a prop on a movie set. Otherwise, I advise that caution be the first rule and used by someone with some skills as a second. Easy to clean, has it's own carrying case, and a " loved the way it felt in My hand " handle.

Couldn't be more pleased!
I love this thing. Absolutely love it. It arrived quickly and was discreetly packaged. The package had brown packaging paper in it so it didn't shuffle around everywhere. The actual rod was in a slim/fitting black bag with a velcro top. The black bag was sealed in plastic. The rod is beautiful and shiny, I think it's really appealing to look at. I love the weight of it and the way it feels in my hand. As one reviewer said, it did have a very slight curve. That, however, is trivial and irrelevant to me. The slim black bag storage bag was in perfect condition. The handle and leather loop was wrapped in plastic, and the leather loop was also in perfect condition. I tested the toy out and, wow! It certainly packs a punch, which was exactly what I was looking for! I'm so pleased with this.

This is quite an interesting looking impact play toy. It feels both thuddy and sharp when hit with it, and makes an amazing sound as it is swung. My only real criticism of it is that it comes with a bend to it... instead of looking like a brand new product it therefore looks like it has been used to the point that it has bent the metal. I'm not sure why they put a curve in it, but hey... I unbent it straight (feels weird to say that as an almost-lesbian).
