my quest for a quiet quality aerator continues.
I used the Aerator on about 7 different occasions for about 40 -50 hours of total run time. It appeared that the "drive gear" had worn out and was not properly moving the diaphragm. So I started to see it was possible to get a replacement gear for this aerator as it was only a month old. Contacted the seller Green Canyon Outfitters and their response was "Unfortunately since you have already used this product multiple times we are unable to replace the product. At this point please contact the manufacturer." Contacted customer service at American Maple Inc. and after some back and forth emails they said "We can possibly run this through as a warranty claim if you have the aforementioned documents and can send it back to us." Told them it would cost me more to ship it back, then to just move on to another product. I was happy with the product until it wore out quickly under what I feel was normal usage. So my quest for a quiet quality aerator continues.

Cam Gear wore out BEFORE my first set of batteries died
I've had this pump for about 2 months but have seldomly used it. After about the 5th or 6th use (first set of batteries still run the motor with power and hardly used the car adapter) the cam on the motor wore completely down due to friction. The cam and diaphragm drive arm should be made with better materials like Teflon or something that doesn't wear so easily. I would've paid an extra buck or two just to have this part not wear so quickly. Previous reviewer had the same problem. I will not recommend buying this pump for this reason and question the reliability of the rest of their line of aerators. Look elsewhere unless changes are made to improve the design with better and longer lasting materials.
