Close, but not exactly what I needed.

I was very happy to find a close resembling replacement for my broken handles. However, they are a lot thinner latches than the original, so I fear it may break quickly. Also, this latch has a small bump on the side of the hook which got caught and scrubs the window frame, so I will have to find a different product. On my window, the screws need a nut to hold them on (nut not included), so I had to go purchase all new screws and nuts.

Close but no cigar

For my 1960 Windows, this barely doesn't work. I've posted a picture which shows this one compared to the original. However based on measurements, this one: H 3541, H 3542 works for my windows. Can't find it in a neutral hand version, just left or right. Measure carefully, especially the space between the "hook" and the "base" to figure out what you need.

Not best for vintage

Great latches, but they needed to be modified to work with my vintage 1950’s aluminum cased windows. After trimming part of the inner hook, they work great.

Not for steel windows

This product is made well and works as it should. I did not read the description well enough and tried to use them with steel casement windows. In the end I broke one and had to modify the other to work without breaking.

Doesn't Fit the Original Locks on Your Windows from the 50s.

Just as one of the other reviewers mentioned, the latch on this is not a match with the original latches I am trying to replace. So the handle can't lock fully--it goes about halfway down.

Had to file some of the hook part off (the lock). The house is very old and we are trying to replace all of these locks. May have to replace windows, but wanted to keep the old original windows.
