No, I don't think this is the lure for you. Dear friends and fellow anglers, I ask that we take a moment to question the validity of these consistently useless and expensive fishing lures. For a similar price, I purchased several smaller and comparably ineffective mouse lures. It's not an easy lure to use. Playing this lure takes a lot of practice to get the action just right. I've seen videos where folks are hooking into massive bass using these but I bet you the money I spent on this thing that a $3 spinner from Wal-Mart would have done the same thing. I fell for it. I'm a sucker and I'm on the hook for buying this lure which has helped me catch a fraction of the fish I may have caught on a much cheaper top-water bait. I give credit to the manufacturer for trying. I congratulate the anglers who've enjoyed their successes using it. I just cannot justify the price for this mouse.

Love it
I caught one of my biggest basses ever on this lure!!!! They walk amazing across the water, glide over the moss, and are really durable!!! I also put glass or plastic rattles inside to give a different sound.

Easy to walk!
Extremely easy to walk (swing side by side). I used it the first time today, and got 3 strikes. Not strike out - I caught one in the end. First two times I set the hook too fast - well, I got too excited. The third time I counted 2 seconds before setting the hook, and the hook set perfectly. I use top water lures a lot. Buzz bait is one of my favorite, but I can't sit the buzz bait for 10 seconds and still make it effective. I can do it with this mouse This lure will give you big bass. Update: caught ~10 (actually lost count) today in an hour. You can throw this on the junk pile and it will still glide through. However, body is not very durable, paint started to chip away after all these abuse. Tail sometimes gets stuck between the hooks, need to fix it carefully (otherwise you might break it). Will buy it again if this breaks on me.

Fantastic Fish Slayer
Positively my favorite lure. Large mouth bass, Small mouth bass, Brown trout, can't seem to resist the black/white mouse. This lure has caught fish off moss beds, against cattail patches, even across open water at extremely fast crank speeds with a slight side to side pole tip action. Yes it is hollow so you'll occasionally have to squeeze water out, but if it's filling up at halfway in to shore you're cranking the mouse in way too slow. If your not catching fish with this lure you probably using the wrong color or speed. Color absolutely matters depending on geographic location. The grey/white does nothing here. I suspect it has more to do with season and whats around your fishing hole. Good luck.

Haven't caught a thing with it but it works as it should and resembles a musk test swimming in the water.. maybe come spring (in Colorado) when the ice melts the bass will bite

Okay lure
Plastic is too soft. Caught one bass on it and it ripped. Lure rolls over too much. Got it hooked on a log cause of that. Lost it and had to get in water to retrieve. Action is okay..too much roll causing it to get a lot of water inside. It's easy to cast tho. I wish savage gear still made theirs it was half the price and worked way better.

Excellent bass lure!
I only used this lure last year while bass fishing and the results where very impressive. 29 bass (18 were keepers) ,1 crappie,and 1 Northern.Excellent around docks,retaining walls, and pads. I did catch a couple fishing off shore but the best results were fishing from a boat and casting toward shore

Out of the package the baits are nice, but I am concerned about the build quality ...
I purchased two of these top water mice when they were on sale. Out of the package the baits are nice, but I am concerned about the build quality of the tails; they do not seem particularly sturdy and BOTH appear to be half-detached from the body of the bait out of the box. One or two short strikes and I'm afraid they will break off. If this occurs, I will certainly be updating this review.
