Best soft white LED for the money
I'm a bit of a snob about lighting so I still use incandescents in a lot of situations. Cheaper store bought LEDs awful at color reproduction, regardless of how many "CRI 90+" and "REVEAL HD++++" they put on the package. They're all lying, because CRI is not even close to a complete measurement of color reproduction. A bulb can have a high CRI and still look awful. This Philips Ultra Definition is the exception, mostly. Color reproduction is very close to my BR30 halogens, which are my favorite bulbs due to their color/warmth. It's not perfect (there are measurements out there), but reds are very very very close to the red they should be, and skin tones look natural, instead of pale. Color temperature is a true 2700K. Most "2700K" LEDs are actually closer to 3000-3200K, which is basically white. I don't know why, they just are. They will probably be more amber than you are expecting because of this, so keep that in mind. In my case, this is a good thing, because we finally have actual 2700K bulbs with good color rendering available that aren't extremely expensive. Don't be fooled by BS marketing gimmicks. Besides this bulb, the next best bulbs are $15-20 each. Yes, that's for a single bulb. Those expensive bulbs still do not quite reach the color reproduction of incandescents though, which is perfect due to being from blackbody radiation, just like the sun. There are actually diodes out there that are 95-99% of the way, like the Nichia Optisolis, but no one uses them in light bulbs (yet?). Go figure.

COLOR
The color of these bulbs is fantastic. I had some daylight bulbs in our bathroom that make my brain itch every time we turned them on. I replaced them with these bulbs and they are mellow and comfortable. Nice and bright. And the 3 rooms with dimmers do not blink or flicker. Another pleasant bonus, the bulbs ramp up their brightness over a 2-second power-on cycle. Really kinda nice. Doesn't BLAST you in the face. Just ramps up the brightness to wherever you set it on your dimmer, or to full brightness on regular switches.

The first really good 120v LED
As someone who does lighting for a living, I recognize all the deficiencies in the bulbs you get from the Bog Box retailers. These are truly 360 degree illumination. Brilliant from all angles. Dimming is unexpectedly great. Yes I have a high quality Lutron LED dimmer, but my results are down to probably 5% light until it cuts out.

Old version vs. Ultra Def version
For the Soft White color, both the Old version and the Ultra Def version are 60W equivalent. The Old version is 8.8W and has a frosted plastic bulb. The CRI is 90. The Ultra def version is 8W and has a frosted glass bulb. The CRI is 95. They are very similar but not exactly interchangeable. I wouldn’t mix the two in the same light fixture.

Indistinguishable from incandescent bulb, especially when dimmed.
After so many years of no longer having a filament (and hot) bulb, and missing the warmth that one got when dimming, this bulb magically does just that, only cooler and uses less energy. If that matters to you, this is your bulb! Note, quality of your dimmer makes a difference, so those who complain about flickers and such, it is your dimmer, not this bulb.

Almost flicker-free
Flickers on occasion, but better than my GE daylight led bulbs.

Best LED Bulb
As an architect with an interest in light quality, I believe this line from Phillips is the best consumer LED out on the market. It’s hard to find warm dim feature in this space much less one that warms consistently and uniformly like this one. In addition, the high CRI seems true to claim and produces excellent color rendition. Basically, these offer the closest facsimile of the light quality of traditional incandescent bulbs I’ve come across.

Good, but still miss the mark of incandescent bulbs
The image showing how these bulbs look when dimmed is misleading. In reality, at 50% and 80% dimmed, the light color is in between both examples in the image - it's definitely not as amber as what's shown. Also, at about 90% dimmed, they seem to lose most of the amber color and go back to a soft white. I tested these side-by-side with an incandescent bulb, and they're not the same. I have yet to find a bulb that's indistinguishable from incandescent. With that said, these are good bulbs and the dimmed color is just barely good enough for my purposes. They do not flicker at all when dimmed. Also, I thought the "90 CRI" thing was just a gimmick, but it really does seem to increase clarity (for better or worse). Overall, I'm still astounded that for as long as LED bulbs have been around, and considering they can produce any color on the spectrum, that no one can make them behave exactly like incandescent bulbs.

Ignore what user Vamb said. It's the complete opposite.
I'll do a review long term but for now my initial thoughts are these bulbs are amazing. No flickering, no noise. When dimmed to the lowest Its a softer white and as you raise the switch the light becomes a brighter white. I've never actually seen this before and it seems so simple but it's really really practical. I have the bulbs in a bedroom and it's really nice. I decided to spend the extra bucks and I am satisfied for sure.

Decent but with one flaw
I got the 40w warm glow bulbs. These are decent. No hum/flicker. Dim pretty low. But they all have a delay when turning them on which is annoying. My dimmers have ramp up, which makes it worse, but luckily I can turn that feature off. If you have any other bulbs with them it looks a little weird as they'll noticible turn on later then the others. When running up the stairs I'll be on about the third step before they are on. I have a lot of the simalar Philips 60w bulbs and they don't have this problem. The selling feature here is that they get more 'orange' as you dim them so work well in a room where you may also have dimmed halogens or incandescent bulbs. Might be an issue with my dimmers, but on the lowest setting the light is barely visible. One up and it's 50% brighter. I wish it was somewhere in between. My other bulbs don't have this issue, but they don't dim as low either. I got these because I couldn't get the 60w versions when I looked (are they discontinued?). They were decent value for the price but I don't think I would get them again.

Philips bulbs cost more...FOR A REASON.
Great bulk way to buy "dumb" LED bulbs that still look fantastic. I've been through many different store brands and no-name brands off Amazon, and they all died prematurely, flickered, had a bad colour, etc. These are just perfect. Nice bright white light when maxed out, and they soften and warm up just like an edison bulb as you dim them down. No noise, no flickering, they dim WAY down (unlike cheaper LEDs). Spend a bit more on these. They're worth it - for the first time I've completely forgotten that I have LED bulbs. Excellent value for money!

Great bulb
I've tried a variety of dimmable LED bulbs, these are head and shoulders the best. Least amount of flicker when dimmed, most "incandescent like" colour temperature, especially when dimmed.

Wonderful- Flicker Free
I replaced the led bulbs in our bathroom with these. They’re warm and flicker-free as advertised.
