Use care in northern hemisphere

This is an acceptably good scuba compass for open water navigation. I am not sure I would rely heavily on it in an overhead environment, but for general-ish directional navigation it gets the job done. It is accurate but not incredibly precise. Of note, if using in the northern hemisphere, the degrees are reversed (at least on the particular model I received). The directions, however, are correct. So as an example, "N" is still north but reads as 180 degrees, south is 0 degrees, etc. Not hard to get used to and, at least in my mind, worth the minor inconvenience to save a decent chunk of change over more expensive models that will not serve my purposes any better than this item.

Dive Compass

For the value, it appears to be a good compass! The window on the side is fairly small, but overall, the compass works! if you're an instructor needing a few compasses for students, or if you just want a simple compass for emergency reasons, this is a good route to go. Not the most high-tech compass; not the smallest, but it's not as bulky as I was expecting either. And most importantly... N does point N, and S does point S!

Always dive with a compass

A good compass can be a life saver. Always shoot your bearings at the surface before you dive, if you are forgetful get a data board to write important things down. During a night dive we accidentally entered a cave. There were three different passageways. I panicked for a moment as I thought if I went the wrong way I might run out of air. Stopped panicking- solve the problem. Look at data board and recorded bearing. Added 180 degrees to it and was able to determine correct passageway to swim 30 meters to get out of the cave. We searched on many daylight dives and never found the cave

Great Price - Middle Quality

The compass works. It's all plastic and I don't think it'll last long. But for the price it's what I expected. I wouldn't buy it again. But I will keep and use this one until it breaks. In the future I would spend a little more and get a higher quality one.

With a steady hand this product is easy to use! I love the heading window for reading headings as I swim. The compass also doesn’t seem to be as affected by metal as others. Just don’t put two of these together

Great back up compass

Great back up compass to my computer. Also use it for training my students. Dive buddy smash his on a dive and was easy to get off underwater and gave to my dive buddy to use.

Tal vez el producto sea bueno, no lo sabré, lo que tengo claro es que la traducción de Amazon es nefasta. Tuve que investigar por mi cuenta lo referente a la brújula y opiniones. No fue muy alentador lo que leí, independientemente a qué es una brújula diseñada para ser usada en el sur, muchas de las reseñas coincidían en que no es precisa y se atora.
