Every bird should have one!

If you don’t have a rope birch for your feathered friend you need one! It will quickly become their favorite hang out spot. I love that you can bend them into your desired shape and keep things interesting in the cage

Know your birds

Rope perches are known as unsafe in the bird owner world because if a bird chews on them and ingests the fibers, it can cause a crop impaction, which can be fatal or result in an expensive surgery. I would never buy a rope perch for my caique because he is an avid chewer and he especially loves to chew on soft things. I’ve never seen him try to swallow anything he chews on, but it would only take one time. My parakeets, however, are not strong chewers and are happy to chew on their toys and cuttlebone and leave their perches alone. Both parakeets are disabled—one has a badly splayed leg that sticks way out to the side, and the other has use of both legs but only one foot. They both seem to prefer this perch over all of their other ones, and they have quite a variety. They both only have one good leg to stand on, so their good legs get twice the amount of use and stress as they normally would. This perch is soft and easy for them to grip. I also love that it’s poseable—I have one of these bent into a W shape attached to the front door of their cage. This is where they now spend most of their time. The one with the splayed leg can grip it with his good leg and rest his other leg on it. If you have a bird that isn’t a strong chewer, but you’re still worried about them ingesting the fibers, you can wrap it in vet wrap (also known as coban for humans). You need to know your bird though—even vet wrap wouldn’t be enough to keep my caique safe with this perch.

Tip to avoid early wear...

I have several of these rope perches in my parakeets cage. I understand what people are talking about when they say at the ends of the rope the wire sticks/pops/gives out. I have a tip when using these perches, avoid bending at the ends. I have came to see that these perches can last a bit longer that way and if they aren’t constantly maneuvered all of the time especially at the ends. Bend it to your liking and leave it that way, and avoid bending toward the ends as much as possible. I give these perches four stars because the wire has popped out at the ends in the past, but now that I avoid bending at the ends I do have less of a problem with them and still buy and use them.

My Parakeets love it!

I did some research on parakeet perches and it says that it is good to have perches with different textures because their little feet can become sore when standing on a rough textured perch for too long. This one is easy to install and you can use for a perch or as a fun twisting toy. My parakeets still use their branch and wooden perches but they favor their new cloth perch the most! I guess humanly speaking, it's like going from dress shoes to slippers!

Strong & durable

I have multiple ropes on my birds cage and this one clicked right into the bars and tighten with the piece to secure it. My bird loves it, where I placed it he goes in and out his cage all day.

Great little perch

Fantastic value for your money, I will probably buy a couple more. I use the one I bought as a perch for outside of her cage. She loves flying back and forth from the outside to inside of her cage. Easy to attach to her cage, a little bigger than I expected (which is great). Highly recommend for birds that won't chew it to pieces (not sure if it is 100% cotton). My little one will not, so I not too worried either way. ????

TRES DANGEREUX

avant même de l instaler dans la cage de mon perroquet les deux tige de metal on sortie de la corde. Cela aurais blessé mon perroquet , je suis très dessus de cette marchandise . Before I even instal it in the cage of my parrot the two metal rods are out of the rope. It would have hurt my parrot, I am very much above this merchandise. I do not recommend this purchase

Steel rod popped out from inside of the rope,making it a safety hazard for our bird. .

When we first got it the product was great but very soon after having it set up on our budgies cage, one of the steel ends came out of the inside of the rope at the plastic end that attaches to the cage. We have tried to put it back in, but seems like it isn't long enough while the rope is bent. We have had to take it down until we can fix it so that our bird doesn't cut himself on the sharp end sticking out. Amazon refunded our money for it right away, which was great.

Produit Décevant et dangereux!

Tout juste sorti de l’emballage, les deux tiges de métal sortaient des cordages le rendant extrêmement dangereux pour les oiseaux. Impossible de l’installer convenablement. Même en essayant d’entrer les tiges, le perchoir est mou, sans corps et ne tient absolument pas. J’ai obtenu un remboursement sans problème.

okay for the price

my birds like this perch and it is great that it is flexible, but the wire in the middle of the rope has come out. I can kind of stick it back in enough so it does not hurt my birds, but it is not as sturdy as it was before the wire came out. I also had to cover the rope with vet tape because one of my budgies was chewing on the rope. I think if the perch was not bent too much, then the wire would not have broke.
