Great for the price BUT creaky if you sit on it (110lbs)

I really like this shoe rack. It looks sharp and was pretty simple and easy to assemble. It lost a star because part of the reason we wanted this style of bench is so that we could sit on the top and put our shoes on. It is great for holding shoes and kid boots, BUT I'm only 110 lbs and it creaks something fierce when I sit on it. It hasn't broken or cracked but I'm less than half of the claimed weight it should hold and it barely holds me. The legs are strong, but the top is weak. I have stopped sitting on it because I do think it'll break if I keep doing it. The top slats aren't joined and are just too thin to be separately load bearing the way they are designed to do. If you want it for a sit-on bench it's too tall for kids and too weak for adults and teens, I do NOT recommend it. If you want it just for a shoe rack I absolutely recommend it because it holds a lot and looks nice :). I'm glad I bought it, but since I want a sit-on bench I wouldn't buy it again.

beautiful & light-looking bamboo furniture for entrance shoe rack seating bench

The edges of the top bench slats and vertical legs are nicely eased and smoothly finished, not so the rest of the bench, so be careful as bamboo is prone to splinter along its grains and you can easily get an ouchy. I had to glue one on the corner edge back so it doesn't aim for my fingers. But that's the nature of the material, fortunately, you shouldn't have reason to touch these crisp edges except when assembling the bench. The slat panels holding the shoes, they span 35" with little depth to resist sagging. If you put heavy shoes or step on them, they will bow but hopefully not break as bamboo is a very ductile material, it's flexible grass not wood.

Love this rack, using it as a patio footstool/table and it matches our wooden bench

No assembly instructions

No assembly instructions! Wish me luck. Was easy enough to put together. Pretty sturdy. The screws are all exposed so it’s not the most refined look. But I’m planning on painting it anyways. I left out the middle shelf so I’d have more space for boots and it’s not wobbly like that.

Bought this to put behind door and to keep shoes off the floor all the time it is very sturdy and looks great and keeps organized good holds about 10 pair of shoes on it would buy again thanks

Look elsewhere

Arrived with two top slats detached and no way to reattach. They are simply attached by using very thin, useless, staples. Wood is VERY thin and fragile. 2 pieces cracked while trying to screw together. Looks OK but would not suggest purchasing this. Get a sturdier one.
