A fan of Wall Control
I was a peg board junkie but I have found Wall Control and that changed. WC is much more versatile and considerably stronger. The 6 small sections of this strip let me decide on what length and where.

It holds my heaviest garage items
It's extremely study, with a very heavy gauge metal construction. Between four that I bought, there were two corners that needed to be slightly bent back into shape with pliers, but that's to be expected between manufacturing, packaging, and shipping. The cost is pretty high, which is why I removed one star for value, but I didn't need many of them. I definitely recommend 1/4-inch pegboard hooks/accessories as the thinner hooks would be far too loose without hook holders. Even with sturdy 1/4-inch hooks, I still use holders.

Easy to install and support a lot if heavy tools.
I have ordered these twice; once for a new shop, and again because my tool collection has expanded. They come in 16 inch long pieces, and you can install them sideby side or with spaces. Each two pieces come in a plastic sleeve, and each sleeve also holds screws and plastic wall anchors. I wanted mine black, since this is the color of my other shop hardware, so I used semigloss black spray paint. Unfortunately the strips are coated with a sticky grease, and need cleaning with a solvent before painting. You can sacrifice pegboard holes for the mounting screws, since there are no separate mounting holes. I just drilled my own holes at the tops of the end and middle slots. My shop walls are one inch pine boards, so I did not have to use the anchors or look for wall studs. As shown in my picture these strips can support a lot if weight. I looked for a way to avoid covering my nice pine walls with pegboard sheets, and these strips were perfect.

Happy, but had to do some tweaking to make these work.
I bought two sets for all my gardening and painting tools in the garage. These are plenty sturdy, but I did find that I needed to bend the ends and sides in so they would butt up more closely. I used a bench vise or simply leaned my weight on them to square up the edges. I also used 3/4" spacers behind the plates to prevent deforming the strips if I accidentally over tightened when I mounted them. My garage walls are cinder block, so I mounted the strips on 1 by 4 common board and attached that to the walls with masonry screws. If you do the same, be sure your board is long enough. For 7 strips I used a 10' board and for the other 5, an 8' board. You will not be able to get all 6 strips on an 8' board so allow extra length. These are plenty strong for heavy shovels, forks, etc. (I have at least 25 heavy garden tools/clippers/brooms/etc. on the longer board and all my paintbrushes, pans, and rollers on the shorter one) but I can tell you that standard 1/4 inch pegs are too loose and will fall out if not secured somehow. I used zip ties to hold the pegs securely to the strips because those plastic peg securing gizmos included in the peg kit don't work worth a hoot. Eventually, I will replace the standard pegs with the expensive Wall Control pegs, but for now this system works. I'm a 67 year old widow, so if I can make these work, you can too..

Lay out your installation to ID end locations before you start drilling screw holes.
If mounting on known studs, use 2 1/2 - 3 inch deck screws, but be careful not to overdrive them because the strips are fairly light guage and will bend/distort if you drive them w/poser drill. Also, the ends are not uniformly square, so match them carefully end-to-end if you want a nice square, level installation. Try to locate the edges of your studs, and then match the individual panels, because 16" centers are not always 16" centers. You may not be able to flush mount all the panel ends because of this.

Best value I've seen for the 8ft set!!!
Galvanized so they can be used outdoor. Heavy enough gauge to hang heavy power tools - as long as the pegboard strips are mounted properly. Accepts standard 1/4" pegboard hooks as well as slotted hooks. And they're made in the USA!!! Just wish the large 16in x 32in pegboards weren't so expensive, would love to put up about 100 sq feet of those in my garage / shop.

Pretty good solution
I bought this product because I didn't want to shell out a log of $$ for a proprietary wall hanging system. Pegboard hangers are very cheap and you can find them almost anywhere. The Wall Control strips are very sturdy and I have no worries about putting my heaviest lawn care tools on the hangers. The only downside is the mounting setup. Rather than use the drywall anchors, I mounted a 2x4 horizontally to the wall into the studs and then attached the wall control strips to the 2x4. This also gives a little bit more room for the tools to swing and not bump into the wall. When attaching the wall control strips, I used small pieces of wood as spacers to keep the metal from bending too much. A few pieces of 1x2 with holes drilled would accomplish this task perfectly. Overall, I'm very pleased with the quality of the strips and the concept of a heavy duty pegboard hanging system. Edit 2016-05-18: I'm adding a picture of the back to make it more clear how they are constructed.

Great add on to main pegboard panel's.
I ordered these strips to augment two sets of 16 X 32 in peg board panels, and mounted them on the edge of the main panels, and added wide hooks that accept the handles of my battery drills, and jig saws. This saved space on my main panels, and still kept my drills within easy reach ! These panels being made of steel, are very sturdy and support heavy items with ease !

Have them as a straight rail, or singular. I've tried both ways and just love the versatility. Really strong and sturdy. I recommend making sure these are either to the studs, or use a cross brace and connect it to that to maximise what can be hung.
