Never Be Without
I have never had an off-set spatula, and every time I frost cupcakes or a cake, I would think, "I really need a spatula to frost my cakes". Finally, while frosting some cupcakes, I wrote myself a note and ordered an off set spatula. It is one of those things you do for your self to make life easier. For under ten dollars, this was a wonderful purchase. Oxo has such a great name, and I have many of their products, I knew I could not go wrong. It is a very comfortable knife with a nonslip handle. The bent blade is perfect for putting the frosting on and then shaping the frosting to fit the cake or cupcakes. You can angle your movement without breaking your arm, and it is so much easier to use this off set spatula. Of course, there are other uses for this off set. You can slide the knife right under cookies to lift the cookies off without crumbles. Anything, really that you want to move from a pan to another surface. The knife/spatula is made of stainless steel and you can wash in the dishwasher, but I prefer to hand wash. This off set spatula is one of those pieces of equipment that makes a perfect gift. Many people, like me, never think to purchase one, and then once you have it, you wonder how you did without it. A gift someone usually does not buy for themselves. Remember this, when you are thinking of stocking stuffers. Recommended. prisrob 03-28-14

Easy to use
Great little icing knife to add to your collection. Good for decorating cookies, decorating cakes and cupcakes. It's durable easy to hold easy to clean, it's my go to spreader.

Pampered Chef’s are better
I had a great offset spatula of this size that I had gotten at a Pampered Chef party a zillion years ago. I somehow misplaced that one (actually, I’m sure I left it at my friend Stephanie’s house but she claims I didn’t). I saw this one and thought, Oxo is good quality! But I’m disappointed with it because it’s not as substantial as the one from Pampered Chef. If you don’t have prior experience with offset spatulas, this one is perfectly fine. But if you’re picky about your offsets (arguably one of the top 10 kitchen workhorses, IMHO), then you might be disappointed with how this one compares.

Wonderful OXO Grips Small Offset Icing Knife
I bought this for my daughter who just loves to create wonderful things in the kitchen. She saw someone on a cooking show using an "offset icing knife" and begged me to get one for her. I had never heard of one before and I used to work in gourmet cookware shop years ago and thought I knew just about every kitchen/cooking device known to man. This one slipped past me. I always just used a butter knife for icing a cake........BUT NOT ANYMORE!!! This thing is great!! The handle is higher than the blade and keeps your knuckles from dragging through the icing. It's flat and wide enough to get any type of texture I want (usually pretty swirls) and wish I had had one of these years ago. Wonderful invention for those who ice cakes, cookies or whatever.

Very flexible, excellent comfortable handle
I was originally recommended to Oxo's Good Grips range for my mother who had suffered from arthritic hands. I later continued to use those utensils because they performed brilliantly, were easy and comfortable to use and outlasted many others. I continue to buy into the brand where possible for the same reasons. The blade on this has a working length of about 18cm or 7-inches which is sufficient to cover more than half the diameter of any cake that I am ever likely to bake and may just about cover the full width of the smaller ones. As it uses a dog-leg design between handle and the main part of the blade, the handle should never be in contact with a cake's surface, no matter how large it may be. The blade is extremely flexible, far more so than that used up until now, which must be more than 30-years-old and whose wooden handle has finally rotted after being washed many hundreds of times. If this lasts as long as its predecessor, it will outlast me. It is dishwasher-safe and the handle should never rot, unlike wood.
