Torn As To How To Rate

I’m torn as to how to rate this item. The packaging and instructions were terrible but the light is pretty decent once assembled and installed. The box contains instructions, the wired lamp frame, the lid, a box of the individually wrapped seeded glass panels, a finial and loose hardware that was just thrown into the box (that, of course, fell to the floor when I opened it.) The instructions are very poor and suggested that the glass panels be added after the lamp frame is installed on the post. The glass panels fit inside the lamp and are secured with a panel clamp and very tiny Phillips screws that are already assembled on the lamp frame. You will need a very small headed Phillips screwdriver to loosen these screws and if you’re klutzy like me will lose most of them in the grass surrounding the post. So I, knowing my own shortfalls, added the glass inserts before mounting to the post and that took me a little time because the screws are very tightly attached. My concern with the glass is that there are gaps around the tops of the panels that might allow moisture or insects to get inside. The glass inserts are a bit wavy on the top cut (creating the small gaps) but none seemed to be chipped, cracked or broken otherwise this would have been on its way back. Inserting the panels prior to mounting makes it a bit heavier while installing but doesn’t make any difference when wiring. There was ample wire length that made the connecting pretty easy and straightforward. From un-packaging to a working yard light took about 45 minutes. I agree with some other comments about this light being a bit on the small side. I have a small house and wanted something with a smaller profile. This is a tad smaller than I wanted but will live with it. The lamp takes a 60 watt bulb and I’m using a 40 watt CFL equivalent that works just fine. The big test will be when it rains. My GFCI is pretty sensitive so any moisture that gets into this lamp around the glass panel gaps will trip the breaker and I’ll have to keep resetting. If that happens I’ll comment again. One of the features I like is that there’s ample room to put your hand in the top opening to replace the bulb. My old lamp had a really small opening that made it difficult to make the change. And I’m a female with small hands. Part 2: It’s been about a week since installing the light and we’ve had four days of rain. I took the top off of the lamp after all the rain and it seems to be dry inside. No tripping of the GFCI either so I’ll keep it.

Had this installed since january and no complaints so far like the other reviews said it is a tad flimsy but as long as you have it high up enough where nothing can hit it accidentally it will be fine. I have no problem at all with water getting in the fixture and this is mounted in the middle of the lawn with no protection from a house or trees and its fine

This is too small for a large post - my fault for not reading

First - my fault for not reading the specifications and understanding the size of this light. I have a vinyl light post that slips over a 4x4 wood post. This light on top of the post looks like a "pointy pin-head." Quality is consistent with price. You are not paying $100 for a better quality item. I would say that if you were mounting this on a standard metal yard light pole you would be pleased. Mounting it on a hand-rail, etc would work.

Does not come with a bulb as pictured in the ad!!!

These are ok if you want some cheap lights, but very disappointed that I had them delivered to my mountain getaway only to find out I had to drive all the way back into town (over an hour round trip) just to buy some cheap bulbs for my cheap lights. They should take a picture of what you ACTUALLY get, not what it looks like an hour after putting together and running to the store to get bulbs. Disappointed to say the least.....

This Item is not the Color described

This item does not match the lamp post that was recommended to buy together. The actual color is quite different from how it looks online. I have never installed it, but I am trying to return it. BC of corona I did not get a chance to open it until after the return window passed.
