Unique size perfect for middle burners. Good but not great performance.
This could have been perfect, if only they had made the base as thick as the rim makes it look. It's a little deceptive and the photo makes it look heavy-cast, but the base of this is thick enough for only OK transfer and evenness. Additionally, the base is scalloped which removed useful material, supposedly to improve performance on smooth top ranges. So far I have put this through its paces with french toast, pancakes, and eggs. The nonstick is very good and even I could pull off over-easy, which I can't seem to in a pan. Using the french toast challenge, the transfer is good enough, meaning it will cook all the way to the edges so the unevenness is not disqualifying. However, the middle pieces will be a shade darker than the front and back, and need to be flipped sooner if you are obsessed with consistent output. It preheats quite quickly and evenly on medium, which seems to achieve and maintain about 350 which is perfect for a griddle. Any higher and it probably will get hotspots and cook/burn too quickly to be useful. The directions do not recommend the dishwasher, so a quick go-over with a brush and soap takes all of one minute. Others have criticized the size. I would definitely say this is a one-burner griddle unless you're using a camp stove. I got it specifically for the dimensions which match the middle bar burner on my Whirlpool gas range, which is maybe 8" long. It is perfect for this application and will do 6 pieces of bread or pancakes (or medium eggs) at a time. It's a bit overpriced for what it is, but the dream griddles that actually are a centimeter of solid nonstick aluminum run over twice as much (I'm thinking of the Scanpan).

Just what I was looking for
I have a gas range with an long oval center burner and a cast iron grill/griddle (provides with the stove) that can replace the center grating and runs the length of the stove from from to back. A heavy piece of hardware with all the problems of cast iron. I was looking for a “slim” non-stick griddle that would be proportional in size to that center burner, and that would be much easier to clean and maintain. I have an 11-inch square cast iron griddle, well seasoned, but it has always been a problem with uneven heat distribution. I finally stumbled across this Nordic Ware griddle here on Amazon. So far, so good. It seems to provide better heat distribution and is a breeze to clean in the sink. While not a 2-burned griddle, it works perfectly for those oval or bridged burners as long as you do not need to feed a family of 4 at the same time. The cooking area is 8-7/8ths x 12-3/4 inches. I haven’t owned this griddle long enough to comment on the durability of the non-stick coating.

Great product ...
Great product for making grilled cheese sandwiches, frying and scrambling eggs, making pancakes, and so forth. I have a small kitchen and stove, so this griddle works nicely. The handles work well, but I would always use oven gloves, to avoid hot hands!!

Too small to be a stovetop griddle
This item is sold as a 17-inch stove-top griddle -- but it's not 17 inches wide unless you measure between the outer edges of the handles. The interior cooking surface is just over 13 inches wide, which isn't big enough to straddle two adjacent burners on a standard stove. Amazon's product description (as of June 2017, the date of this review) does not mention this little "discrepancy" in size. And in this case, size does make a difference in terms of performance!

Don't buy it.
I would advise you not to sell as a stovetop grill. Halfway between Lo and medium, the red burned on my stove. It does not fit over two burners. The newer stoves let you cook over one burner, and the space between two. That doesn't work either. Amazon sells quality merchandise, this is definitely not a quality piece of quality merchandise. I can safely advise anyone considering this item, not to do so. It was not cheap, and not worth a penny, and not worth the burn I have on my hand by accidentally touching the handle.

Lo compré ya que busco algo que me sirva para mi estufa de inducción y lo dice en las especificaciones. Lo tuve que regresar, no tuve problema en esto.
