Flents

I chose this rating because the items were exactly as described/pictured. They were easy to use and adjust. I would recommend to anyone who needs to stabilize a finger due to a contusion or sprain.

Finger saver!

The media could not be loaded. I've been using this splint for 14 days now. I only take it off to go to the loo, wash my hands and shower. It's comfortable, doesn't slip off and it's adjustable. The packet has three different length splints. The padding inside makes them comfortable to wear and the hard outside protects your finger from bashing it. After two weeks of use the foam is still good, hasn't really thinned down or peeled. As they don't slip off, you don't need to wrap anything around it to hold it in place, which I wasn't expecting. Very impressed.

These were exactly what I was after!

Following a finger fracture I wanted a splint that offered more protection that a simple finger bandage (NHS solution). I wanted something that came in a range of sizes (I can never tell which would be the best fit) so having a selection was great. The foam is very comfortable and does not break or clump should it get wet. The metal outside is just the right rigidity to ensure the finger can remain protected but not crimped or clamped. You will need some surgical tape to secure the end of the fitting so it stays in place so be sure to order that too! Have worn one particular size for nearly 2 weeks and it has held up well. Now cleaned and put away just in case. If you’re looking for something like this hopefully this will be what you’re looking for.

Splint.foam too short once bent around finger

Good size, but when bent over finger etc, the foam needs to be longer to allow for this as the metal and foam are the same length the blue foam then gets smaller and the edges of the metal dig in your finger. So the blue foam being another 3mms longer prevents the metal digging in or make the metal 3 mms smaller. Else you end up with a blister on your finger. Which adds to the injury you already have. So I end up having to put elasterplaster over the finger and around the edges of the splint. Please take this into account when making them thankyou.

An excellent buy

very useful indeed now that they have come into their own. I bought them last year for a finger injury, but they weren't appropriate and I hated them. Now my mother has fallen and severely bruised or maybe broke her ring finger end joint and the right one of these gives excellent protection while using her hand or sleeping. PS there is a right way and wrong way up, as the metal sticks out a mm or so more on the outside. I am now buying it again so the right size one can be washed.

Needs the Velcro straps

I only needed the smallest size - the other two are far too long for even my longest fingers. Comfortable to wear and solid enough to protect the injured digit, but it really needs the Velcro strap you get in other similar kits to hold it on - it does not stay firmly in place by itself. Something that wasn’t an issue for me but may be for others: the way they are packaged means the larger two are misshapen on arrival (pushed widely open) and you have to put considerable effort into bending the metal back into the correct position so they close again.
