Not what I thought

I purchased 4 of these shirts. They are well constructed but not lightweight. If you want something thicker this is the shirt for you. Do not put in the dryer though or they will certainly shrink. I did not want skin tight shirts but if you do then a bit of shrinkage might work. They arrived smelling so strong of some kind of scent I had to wash them 4 times in white vinegar to get the scent out. If you are sent sensitive such as I am try another product. Long term I hope the shirts work out, so, I guess only time will tell for me.

Second look

Good shirt, mid weight, soft, comfortable, excellent bargain, however I haven't decided if I like the sleeves. With no cuff they are comfortable but tend to push up inside my jacket sleeves. I think I would buy them again, as the plus points are too good to pass up. It turns out my worry about the sleves was unfounded, they are not a problem at all.

Nice shirt

Nice shirt. Fits good. Bought this and a Hanes at the same time and they appear to be at least an equal in quality and cut.

I ordered this in a large along with a Hanes brand in a medium to do a side by side comparison. Both were worn for a time before wash (the Amazon Essentials for several days, the Hanes for two or three). I'm a sliver under 5'7" and approx @ time of review 148lbs. The Amazon Essentials was slightly big on me out of the bag, as I expected, but I'd been uncertain about shrinkage and my default is to get large. Normally I like these kind of shirts more loose than tight. The Amazon essentials was at a size that was literally on the line of "almost too big for me" and "I could live with this for sleeping purposes and around the house" Fortunately it did shrink in length in the sleeves and at the waist where it really fits close to perfectly (still loose, but the visual would be difficult to pin as 'too big'). I have the ever so slightest of fabric bunching at the chest along the where the top of the sleeves meet, but as I stated, it's almost unnoticeable (really only by my attentive eye) and overall the shirt fits comfortably and appears to be well stitched with good quality material. There was not color fade that I could detect (dark navy) and I did dry it on a hot (not delicate material) setting in the dryer. It states it was made in Vietnam, if that is of interest. I will order another after finishing this review. As a side note in comparison, the Hanes I ordered was only available in a medium (which worried me) and out of the bag was tighter than i normally like (not skin tight, but tight for a person who likes their clothes slightly loose fitting. Fortunately after washing and drying there was almost no shrinkage (it's a 60-40 blend) and absolutely zero color-fade. Although it was slightly more snug, the material and stitching was well done to the extent I could do the backhand internal stretch technique carefully (hand and arm under shirt while wearing it, push out at chest and various areas slowly and carefully with back of hand). I can tell the tightness would be more beneficial for the cooler nights we get here in the south during the winter and would be sufficient to wear with or without a light hoodie or jacket. I'd say the quality side by side is almost identical, with the Hanes only slightly ahead due to deep color and perhaps slightly better material and was only under $8.00 u.s.d at another WeLL known MART with a strong online presence. Finally; the MAIN description I am reading above my review and on the main page does not mention it having a pocket, but it does (as mentioned in the detail description) just in case someone might overlook it.

Only one flaw

Overall, the quality is good. The fit is good except that the sleeves are too short by about 1 or 2 inches. The sleeve ends just above the wrist.

Quality material, good value

Great material and very soft, my only complaint is it’s just an inch or two short in the body and I’m only 5’ 9” so I cannot imagine how short it is for taller guys.

Better than expected

Although I didn’t think it was going to be as thick as it was, it was a solid basic shirt, that fit well, 5’6 195 and the shirt width was great, I do work out but still have a small beer belly if you will, shirt still fit perfect mine was true to size, size medium

Good overall fit

Good fit, good fabric weight, colorfast. The pocket should be a little larger. I deducted one star because of a hole in one of the three shirts I bought. Amazon promptly replaced it.

Nice material, although the shirt is a little too short for me

I'm 6'1", 46-48 chest, and the shirt (XL) fitted quite well - not tight - although I found it about an inch short in the sleeves, and an inch or two short in the body. The material is nice and thick, so better for the colder months.

Too spacious but great if that's what you need/like.

While I find the equivalent shirt in slim fits very well the regular cut of this short is baggy. It's a lot more like a loose or husky fit. Like the slim fit the fabric is a bit heavy. It's going to be absolutely fine to wear in the winter, fall and spring but I'm reserving judgement on how comfortable it'll be during the height of summer. That said the quality is the same as the equivalent slim fit t-shirt so if you like or need a bit of extra space in your t-shirt then I think these would be a great buy since they have a good selection of colours and have an excellent price to quality ratio.

Very disappointed!

Please wait till you wash these shirts and then review them. They seemed to be great right of the box. I washed them for the first time and since I read (in some reviews) they shrink in the dryer, I air dried them. Unfortunately, L size turned to M. The collars (the ring around the neck) has become loose and the sleeves have become really short! I usually buy Banana Republic shirts but decided to try these since they were cheaper. I might just use them around my house or wear them while sleeping during winter since they are pretty thick. Too shabby to wear outside after the first wash. Pockets are a nice addition but really small. Might just end up returning. Needs lot of improvement.
