Kick it up by upgrading it

First I added a charcoal basket i found that fits. I is not as large as charcoal area but holds mores and provides better air flow. I can also add charcoal around it to give longer burn time. See picture. Second was adding stainless steel cover with vent holes. Third was using cast iron pan or grill pan on it. Can get that butter fried steak to perfection outdoors where you can handle smoke Fourth, would be round grill pan with press and lid. I am using a square one now to do vegetables just right.

I love it

Get a charcoal starter chimney to go with this one hopper of the regular web or chimney puts a layer of charcoal on the bottom of this which is perfect for cooking it doesn't take a lot. The good old welding brush from Amazon makes cleaning the charcoal grooves out easy and the triple wire brush makes clean the top easy. You get plenty of cook time with one layer of charcoal I'm pleasantly amazed. You can feed four people if it's a meal that you can hang around and cook and eat at the same time if you want to have more people than that get two of these it's worth it. Don't use junk charcoal I used Kingsford all my life until I just happen to try some Royal Oak and I could not believe the difference.

Nice little charcoal grill

Grill some filet mignon first time and used a grill press worked just fine. Can't wait to try using on a camping trip this fall . Its not a weber but its still a must have for me after using us will last longer than 3-5 years as compared to a weber is why I purchased. Will be buying a new smokey joe , this will be my travel grill heavy but smaller than the smokey joe. Hope this helps some in making decision on purchase . Update bought a 12 inch cast ioton skillet from walmart, 10$ Amazon can't beat that or if you have one lying around makes a perfect lid to hold in heat . Happy grilling still loving thus little grill

Versatile, cooks just anything you might want for a BBQ or tailgate or camping

I absolutely love this. I wanted it primarily for an emergency in the event of power loss I can cook with EITHER wood or charcoal. It is heavy so be mindful on needing to move it when hot. DO watch the video. The handles make it so very easy to remove the top grill portion if you need to add more heat. I start mine with a chimney so I don't have to wait and wait to get cooking. Allow time for it to cool if you have to load it once done eating, for the trip home. It so far superior to my gas BBQ I just couldn't be happier.

Better than expected.

This has been a great addition for small meals and ka-bobs. One word of caution; it gets hot on the bottom. make sure you protect the surface under the grill if you need to. I place the grill on a piece of plywood I cut to size.

First time ever making bbq beef ribs i love this grill so much please make a 24" version also

The media could not be loaded. Suggest is to get aluminum foil and then run your finger along the ridges on the bottom so they takes the shape of that and clean up his easy you just dump out the ashes and then you lift the aluminum foil and it most you only have to clean up the edges unless you're really particular on how you lay the foil

Missing Parts

I purchase a Lodge Kick-off grill but was disappointed to find that it arrived without it's steel lift handles.When I tried to contact Lodge to inform them of this problem, I was faced with a message saying that "this is their busy season" so it might be a while before they get to your letter....(okay?) Then after writing a very nice letter to them explaining the problem, I hit send... But instead of sending... you now have to prove that you are not a robot. (okay.... I get it.... you can't have your business being swamped with junk e-mails.) Now I have to check off pictures with palm trees.... okay..... these images are small and blurry, so I check off 3 of the 6 images that I think to see palm trees . Hit confirm.... images disappear .... Did the letter send?, Did I pass the palm tree test? ....no clue.... page remains the same. Press letter send again...no pop up robot test, but absolutely no change with the page either.... redo the entire letter process again. Same end result.... SO DAMN FRUSTRATING !!!! Like I already said, I get it.... but forcing your customers to play annoying hidden object games that don't clearly show your customers if their letter will get to you.... well... that is plain STUPID! So now to get back to my real complaint... It has been two weeks since I tried to get this issue resolved. And I have yet been contacted by them... The Kick-Off grill is a really cool looking little grill... But it is totally useless and unsafe to even try to use, without it's steel lift handles.

Great grill!

This is an amazing little grill! Puts out the heat and you can put a cast iron pan on it as well. Keep in mind, it’s not a big grill, but it’s more than enough for a few people. It’s also a bit heavy for a portable BBQ but it’s well worth hauling it.
