Not a Direct Replacement
I will always pay more for a Rule vs. a generic bilge pump considering what's at stake. I was disappointed though that they changed this model to have a wider base that doesn't fit the basket base on the previous version. Beware that if you don't use the blue basket that comes with this model, water will shoot out both sides and it will not work. Also, you will need more room to attach the discharge hose to this model as the screw on stalk is hard plastic. It does allow for double clamping though, so with a few mods, I got it to fit in the shower/sump box.

Work for about 18 months
I use this pump for a water tank inside a greenhouse. It stays submerged and runs with solar panels. The first one lasted just under two years. I am now on my second one.

Good pump.
I bought this to replace the old shower bilge pump in my cabin cruiser. This is the updated version, hopefully it will last longer. As much abuse as these things take I can't complain. Being they are made of plastic, of course they will only last so longer before they disintegrate so you will replace every couple years or so if they are being used/wet. That said, these are the ones I buy and I have found to be the best quality. Recommend.

Great little pump
I have a solar powered canoe that I use for fishing and lake cruising that has a leak or two in it. Since I have the 12 volt battery and solar panel providing power I decided to install this pump to take care of the water leaking in. I connected it to a switch, and to a 3/4 inch hose going over the side. It works great! Any time I think the water is getting too deep I turn on the pump and it drains the water without any effort on my part. Also very handy when I get caught out in rough water and the waves come over the side. I just leave the pump running and know that I'm getting rid of the water faster than it's coming in.

Good quality you can trust
Hi Folks. Look no further. This is the best reliable pump.i have it on my 28 ft canoe. It goes through alot of bad seas but never lets you down. Buy it install it n forget it.

Great value, good simple pump
I'm impressed by the speed and lift of this pump for something so small and with such low power draw. Has enough power to overcome an inline check valve in my application with about 4' of lift. Pump has a simple check valve built-in as well. Great for my application as a compliment to a larger manual pump on a small boat.

This is the second bilge in the back of the boat as the boat has a deep hull in the front... I put a Rule 800 in the front...I have a Rule in my daughter’s boat and rate it 10 out of 10
