Glad I bought it

This uses real leather but it arrives pretty tough, feels almost like thick plastic. I started bending it around gently whenever my dog is off leash and now it's really nice and soft. My only concern is that the stitching seems to be a little loose and doesn't use waxed thread. I think this thing will still last a decade, but I'll be keeping my eye on that stitching.

It took my dog 5 minutes to chew this leash in half

Thin, flimsy - my dog chewed through it in a matter of minutes. I attached it to his collar. When I hooked my other dog up to her leash, my other dog had already chewed it in half.

Inferior quality

This leash isn't what I expected. I own a leather lead from another company and it is soft and very flexible. I can wrap it around my hand in order to shorten it to the length I need. However, the Hamilton two foot lead is very stiff, harsh against my hands and the seams are glued and stitched. The hardware is not the best and arrived with pockmarks. The leather is low quality and made in China and the color is really a mahogany shade and not burgundy. I would not recommend this item.

Looks better in the pictures...

I got this because my dog trainer recommended a short leash for training and said that leather was the way to go. When I checked this out online...it looked great. However, once I picked it up in my hands I was pretty disappointed with the overall quality and craftsmanship. The leather is very cheap and in person will both look and feel this way. The stitching is also lacking, and looks weak. I don't know how long this will last me but I assume I will have to purchase another one fairly soon.

both instructors highly recommend this 2 foot leash whether you are physically able ...

I am a 100% Disabled Army Veteran 1969-1983 who is permanently in a Power Chair and in need of a Service Dog. I have trained my dogs and found for absolute control the 2 foot leather leash is the answer as a 6 foot leash is too difficult to train a 6 month old Labrador Retriever. I use a professional trainer in both training and Service Dog, both instructors highly recommend this 2 foot leash whether you are physically able or confined to Wheelchair.

Just the right length for my therapy dog!

My labrador retriever has recently become a therapy dog with Therapy Dogs, Inc., and the leash length cannot be over 4', so I was delighted to find this one at 2'. It's great for a dog who is tall, powerful, and needs to stay at a strict heel, working in tight spaces. It's somewhat stiff, as are all leather leashes and collars when they are new, but if it's anything like my 6' leash I use for running, and fun walks, it'll soften up with use.

Good for Indoor Use

Lead is good for therapy work inside the venue but I need to carry my longer lead with me for breaks outside.

2 ft leather dog leash blk

Absolutely love this leash, much easier control for our walks. Always thought I needed a 6 ft training leash bit see that I do not. Strong thick and very sturdy.
