Great for bathrooms, if you want dramatic lighting.

I love this trim! It looks very nice, and the glass lens on it has less diffusion (it preserves the light direction more) than other trims in the same Halo line (such as the TL403WBS). This makes for slightly more dramatic cone-shaped lighting, which we wanted for our bathroom. (For a family room you probably want the TL403WBS.) I even liked this trim more than their wall-wash trims, which are especially designed to splash a cone of light at a specific angle. (I tried it against both the TL409WW and TL409WHWW.) Note that this is for use with the Halo H457ICAT1E housing, and you also need a light [engine], such as the EL406927 (2700k), EL406930 (3000k), etc. See the housing on Cooper Lighting's website for a doc that lists all of the compatible lights and trims.

It's okay, but after trying both I prefer the TL402HS Trim. I was another victim to LEDs dirty little secret. When the Light Engine fails, you find out that it is no longer available. The replacement light engine is not compatible with the existing housing / driver. So, you have to take the sheet rock off the ceiling and replace everything.
