Comfortable

I've never purchased this brand of shoes before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I ordered my typical size, but I think I could've gotten by with a half size smaller. These are comfortable...if it weren't for the straps, I wouldn't even know I'm wearing shoes. They come with instructions for loosening & tightening the straps, but I found them to be a little bit confusing because it only shows 1 shoe instead of both (left & right). I found the tail end of the strap to be a little too long, so I attempted to tie it out of the way, around the buckle & it seems to be working. I bought these to wear on the days that the space between my toes needs a break from flip flops...these shoes don't bother that space, so far.

Comfy sandals

I wear size 9.5 so bought size 10. Fits well for the most part. The arch support is fantastic. However, I wish the straps could be tightened more. I have narrow feet and even with the straps tightened as much as possible, it's a bit loose on me. Since I wear them as tight as possible, there's also so much extra strap dangling off the side. I will need to cut off the excess myself. But I am mostly happy with them.

A bit narrow

I wore the mess out of these all over Puerto Vallarta and Puerto Rico this summer, they are holding up great! My one complaint is that they are too narrow in the heels and they rub where I cannot adjust them but, I'm still rocking these Chacos in Arkansas now.

Great show, but careful of toe strap!

Let me start by saying I really enjoy the footbed of these! I love how supported my foot /arch feel, which was what I was looking for when picking a sandal. My trouble has been with the toe strap. I have a wide, fat foot so I had to adjust the straps quite a bit for them to be comfortable. I did get to a nice place where everything felt as it should, but as I would walk, no matter what I did, the toe strap would tighten. This is apparently a common issue and I was unaware going into it. Chaco do offer a service Called “Rechaco” where they will correct this issue for free (you pay shipping) however, I was hesitant to do this as I’m nervous the issue would still be there. Like I said, once I initially adjusted the straps, everything fit great! The arch is great, they feel comfortable on my foot, but the toe strap is a hit button for me and I’m personally returning for another shoe.

Five stars for the Z-Cloud, one star for the straps

First of all, whoever invented the Z-Cloud better have gotten an award... or at least a raise. They take the supportive footbed of the original chaco and make it softer in all the right places. In love with this footbed! I wish I hadn't bought this model, though. I've never had chacos with a toe strap before, and I can't say whether it's the toe strap itself (which does seem to add a little security on trails, if not comfort) or the thin double straps, but I hate it. I broke them in for a week before taking them camping/hiking. Wore them on fairly strenuous trails (pictured) through the linville gorge and climbing waterfalls and rock slides. I got the hiking grip I expect from chacos on the rocks and trails. BUT - I didn't bring an extra pair of shoes (never needed to with my old ones), and once they got wet, these little straps were a nightmare. They rubbed in ways the regular webbing just doesn't, leaving little blisters between my toes and on the instep of my foot. Not a fun time when you have a mile back up to the trailhead! I also wore them out for a long day of regular walking and sightseeing, and when my feet swelled slightly at the end of the day (girl problems), the little straps cut into my foot and felt awful. I had to stop and loosen the whole shoe to adjust everything. I admittedly bought these because I was being cheap and really wish I had spent the extra thirty dollars on the regular webbing ones. Will be ordering the Mega Z - Cloud and probably retiring these for short walks and shopping trips.

No half sizes

No half sizes. You might have to go up OR down a size. 2 of us in the family wear 1/2 sizes. One when going a size up the shoe was huge on.

Perfect Sandal!!

I have a high arch and have to wear very specific shoes in order for my plantar fasciitis not to act up- hence i only wear Brooks tennis shoes with a metatarsal foot smart insert to walk and work out in. A friend advised that she too had a high arch and that Chacos were her “go to” sandal to wear. I decided to give them a try and I am not disappointed. The shoes are comfortable, provide support and versatile (i can wear them to the beach, to walk, or out shopping for groceries). I definitely have to go get a pedicure now that I have found a sandal that i can sport all the time. I usually wear an 8.5 or 9 depending on the shoe, but for Chacos I have found the 8 (since they only come in full sizes) works for me. I initially tried the size 9 using prime wardrobe, but it was just too loose and big, but the 8 fit like a glove!!! perfect. Some may think the price is a tad much, but I have learned with shoes that buying quality is always worth the extra expense. Totally recommend for anyone who likes to be sporty and fashionable at the same time!!

The infamous hiking sandal!

I really wanted to try wearing hiking sandals as opposed to hiking boots for the little hikes that I do with my hubs. I was super excited to get these at a great price and decided to break them in... on a pretty strenuous 6 mile hike! Oops. Great news is that my feet felt GREAT for 90% of the hike. Literally no issues! I was afraid of the toe straps suffocating my huge big toes based on reviews, but I had no problems with that at all. The last leg of the trip, at around the 5-mile mark, was when my blisters became REAL on the inner sides of my feet where the straps are. I don’t necessarily blame the sandals 100% for that because that was my first real hike with them and I also have slightly wider feet (you can probably tell from the photo), though I ordered a regular-width size for the sandal. However, I do have to say that the day after, my knee was KILLING me, which leads me to believe these sandals aren’t awesome for knee support. All this to say, I actually LOVE the sandals—I really do. But I think for longer and more intense hikes, hiking boots are just the way to go. I’d definitely wear my Chacos for long day trips that require a lot of walking, though—they are literally SO comfy (besides the blisters, haha).
