Fair quality product ruined by ridiculously cheap, flimsy casters.
I have a bad back and simply can't sit in a chair for any length of time without intense back pain. I've searched high and low for an "over bed" table or laptop desk I can use to work from bed. I also own an Invacare over-bed table similar to this one with dual monitors mounted to it and rolling CPU case tethered to it so I can work from an adjustable bed with my bitchin' desktop rig in my home office sometimes and I use this Graham Field model in my bedroom when I want to work on my laptop. My complaints about the Invacare model are basically the same. The base, lift mechanism and tilt mechanisms work well enough. They aren't particularly sturdy, but they do the job. However, you can be assured that the casters (wheels) will break - it's an absolute certainty. This model in particular has casters that are so weak and flimsy that despite the fact that the shipping box arrived intact and undamaged, one of the casters was completely shattered. Also it was missing one of the bolts that attaches the vertical bar to the base. I contacted the reseller and they were prompt and courteous about getting me replacement parts. In fact, they shipped me a new one and didn't ask me to return the first one. That should give you and idea of how cheap these Chinese manufactured products are. And guess what? The second one arrived with not one, but two broken casters. I still had the first one assembled and used one of the two remaining unbroken casters to finish assembling the first and then sent an email to the reseller to inform the of how disappointed I was that the cheap casters effectively ruin an otherwise decent product. You can search for sturdier casters at Home Depot, but it seems they use non-standard size mounting holes and you'll never find good casters that will fit the holes. So, I'd say, until they deal with this HUGE manufacturing defect, don't buy one unless you can live with wobbly casters that break under the slightest load and probably won't survive shipping. Expect to be contacting the reseller for replacement casters. On the plus side, I have extra parts now to build a nicer version of this desk, and for now it's good enough to use with my laptop, but I wouldn't expect to mount dual monitors on this. I tried that with the Invacare model I bought a couple of years ago and the casters collapsed under the weight. I would recommend the Invacare model over this one (barely) for two reasons. The moulding around the edge of the table is more rounded and doesn't cut into your arms as much when you rest them on it for use with a keyboard or laptop, and the table angle can be adjusted to any angle versus this one which locks into one of several different angles. Anything other than horizontal is too steep to safely set your laptop on or it will slide off. I don't want my Macbook Pro sliding off this thing and hitting the floor so the tilt mechanism is effectively useless for me. If anyone out there knows of a REAL quality over-bed table that has continuous tilt adjustment and a decent lift mechanism AND decent casters, please comment on this review because I'd pay 500% more for a table that was 100% better. Seriously. I gave it two stars instead of one only because the reseller did at least get me a second one for free that I used to fix the first one. I don't expect it to last.

good for high bed; ridiculous assembly problems
I'm very glad I have this table, and hope it lasts for years. If you have physical limitations, read on: I have built simple furniture from "scratch" and have assembled many other pieces. The "Deluxe" Overbed Table was the most irritating challenge yet. Perhaps the instructions were re-written since the reviewer who had it together in 5 minutes received his. I wish he'd helped me! If you have physical limitations, as I do, get someone to help you. The item is heavy, and therefore sturdy. The instructions are a mess. So is the packaging. You get one tool with the table, an Allen wrench. I needed several others: an adjustable wrench (pliers might work), a hammer, a rubber mallet and a piece of plywood (to protect the casters/wheels when you attach them to the base), a Phillips head screwdriver (try several sizes). Two more hands would have helped! The instructions are missing a crucial step: install the casters/wheels to the base (using the rubber mallet or a board-and-hammer) BEFORE attaching the base to the "mast." Under "Operation" step B is written in remarkably fuzzy I-don't-know-English: "Remove hands, automatically located attainable." This means that the table top stays in place once you release the "Height Adjustable Plate." I could re-write the instructions here, but I made copious notes on mine so that if I ever have to disassemble/reassemble this table (don't trust movers not to demolish it) I'll remember what to do. Total assembly time, including disassembly to back up and do-over, was one hour. If you have back, neck or shoulder pain, or have problems working on the floor and lifting heavy items, take some meds first, and plan on giving yourself time for recovery! On a positive note this table fits over my very high bed and adjusts to the angle I need it to use my computer. The height adjustment is stiff but manageable for me if I put some weight into it. The table tilts easily both ways, and stays in position, so it works on both sides of the bed. It is sturdy and the casters lock in place so that it doesn't roll unexpectedly, but takes a little maneuvering to move out of the way so you can get out of bed. Be sure to keep your crutches or walker within easy reach because, like any other table of its kind, this one will send you sprawling if you use it for balance.

Ideal Rollaway Computer Table.
Used as a computer table to sit at or roll into position over a lounger. This model was chosen for the size of the working surface, its ability to carry sufficient weight, and its sturdiness. It has met and surpassed all three criteria. It is used with a small notebook computer attached to a large TV screen used as the monitor. The sturdy construction resting on four, rather than three, casters ensures that it is stable. The tilt feature is not used, but may come in useful for other applications. Hanging from the side of the unit i have a small caddy for storing cables, thumb drives, a portable hard drive, and so on. The one drawback as used in a home environment is that at its lowest setting it was too high for the lounger. This could equally be a criticism of the lounger, which is made too low. There is no overbed table that does go lower, so this still remained the best choice. The solution was to raise the lounger. Nice to have: It would be nice if it had an attached multi-socket with USB electrical outlet. This way the table could be plugged into an electrical socket with a single cable and the devices then plugged into the table, so to speak. This would make it easier to roll away as there would not be so many cables to consider. Hanging from the side of the unit i have a small caddy for storing cables, thumb drives, a portable hard drive, and so on.
