Finally Someone Did It
I've been waiting for someone, anyone, to come out with a T-handle, 1/4" square reversible, ratcheting driver like this for use with sockets and extensions since I first bought the short little Snap On T-handle in the middle and the 10" long T-handle next to it in 1997! The other two drivers pictured for comparison are both from Snap On. While the 10" long one has 1/4" square drive for sockets, the long extension is permanently fixed in the handle. Had wished for years that they made a shorter version, but stopped visiting the Snap On trucks looking for one several years ago. Besides, the last time I checked the price--several years ago--a Snap On was over $100. This tool is EXACTLY what I wanted for years! I can finally use whatever 1/4" square extension I want, and still have the advantage of a reversing ratchet with the leverage of the T-handle for all my smaller sockets. The only drawback--not significant enough to lose a star--is that the depth of the female socket is about .900" / 23 mm, which prevents the use of many u-joint adapters, but in the 25 years I've had the u-joint in the picture it has only been used twice. Constructions seems just as sturdy as the Snap On versions and as likely to last for a long, long time. To be sure, I always lubricate tools to prevent rust from moisture or spills and smooth out the action. This one is going to be with me "forever," and I like it so much I'm getting one or two more. while the stubby one takes 1/4/" hex drive for screwdrivers and small nut drivers. The shorty was absolutely great for field work, but the long one was too long for many tight situations.

It is a torque option for a small screwdriver.
There is nothing wrong with this device. In fact, it is quite useful, giving extra torque compared to a traditional screw driver handle. I consider it moderately expensive, but it relieves my arthritis. I saw reviews comparing this to a Williams tee-handle, so I assumed that it would accept Williams screwdriver shafts. It does not, so I also bought a Gear Wrench set. The overall quality is fine.

Not a Hex Driver!
I bought this because I wanted a true T-handle 1/4" hex bit driver. This showed up as part of the Amazon search results so I incorrectly assumed it was what I was looking for. I have several other Gearwrench tools so I didn't bother researching this any further. Keep in mind that by itself this tool is rather useless without buying the square extension shaft and/or square to hex adapters for another $20. If the Amazon search displayed a kit with all the parts to make it useful, I probably would have bought it but it is rather disappointing to receive a tool that can't be used until I receive the other accessories.

Works so well!
I purchased this Gearwrench ratcheting "T" handle to loosen some very hard to turn screws in metal and wood. Just make sure you have the correct size bit because this baby will turn most tight screws.

Great driver for high torque jobs
The GearWrench ratchet driver handles, all of them, need a special GearWrench extension to work, not a standard 1/4" socket extension. This handle will not drive a 1/4" hex bit or a standard 1/4" square socket extension directly. The special extensions are available separately or in various combination sets with other handles. This T-Bar driver handle, though, is a gem. It is well built and mine has stood up to a fair bit of abuse. The ratchet action is positive but not overly so, and the handle sits nicely in the hand. Many Torx and Hex machine screws need a bit more than a screwdriver handle to break free, and the T-Bar is ideal for this. Also, if you have failing strength in your hands and cannot do heavy work with a normal screwdriver, this is the ideal solution. I'd buy another one in a flash.

Wish i would have read the reviews first, DESCRIPTION OF TOOL SHOULD STATE NOT HEX DRIVE!!
Like almost every one else has stated this in not hex drive. you have to use an adapter. i was hoping to use 6" hex drive bits directly into this but sadly that will not work. Seems to be a quality built tool otherwise.

It Arrived In Pieces And Wanted To Stay That Way
The ratcheting handle arrived in pieces in the bag, almost as if it had been fully dissembled at the factory to provide me with hours of fun putting it back together. While I appreciate the puzzle-like challenge, unfortunately, it would not stay together - kind of like Liz Taylor and Richard Burton. It just wasn't meant to be.
