Not right for me

I need an additional layer of padding under my hockey pants for my old bones and these had potential but ended up not being right for me. Overall there is not a lot of padding, some at the hip and some at the tailbone so if you fall at an odd angle, you can easily miss the pads. Also the pads are, by design, not soft. They flex and then on impact stiffen. They are good to absorb and distribute the energy of a point impact like a puck but WHEN I fall I want something soft to cushion and I already have impact protection from my hockey pants. Instead I'm opting for some multi-layer impact protection shorts which cover a larger area and I can adjust the padding to suit me.

Why wasn’t I wearing these sooner.

I’m 34 I started mountain biking last year and this season I got into dirt jumping as well. Broke my tailbone earlier this year so I decided to try these out and I’m glad I did. These have saved my ass (literally) a few times now. I washed out on a berm while wearing these. Landed right on my hip and not a even a bruise. Definitely worth it.

Very minimal

This is all the padding I need and it's not bulky. Fits a bit tight (medium) but I'm guessing after a few wears it might stretch out. Using this for snowboarding and that tailbone pad works.

Because of this product I got away from surgery. Awesome cushion when you are falling on rocks with hips or pelvic bone. I use this for snowboarding. Adds confidence on big jumps.

Offers good protection

Am 174cm and 73 kgs. Large size fits well, not too tight. Offers good protection for diving(gk) on wooden floor court

These shorts saved my ass!

Great for snowboarding. Gives me the confidence I need to hit the slopes hard and not have to worry about a bruised tailbone. Would highly recommend. Fit as expected, and easy to wash!

G-Form padded short

These shorts are good. The compression material is good quality and the padding is effective. The sizing is accurate. I’m a skateboarder in his 40’s and i bought them for when i slam when bowl riding. They protect well and are comfortable. They also are low profile enough to fit under loose short or joggers. If i could make them perfect, i would eliminate the diamond shape of the hip padding and widen the top to cover more of the hip, while extending the padding further down the leg.

Good trade-off between digression & safety

Great fit, sits very well under clothing (as does the rest of this series). Protection is good given the trade-off between digression & safety. I feel the price is higher than it should be for what is effectively compression shorts and some foam.

After thousand of kilometres, they are still like new.

I began Nordic Cross Skating 9 years ago and have skated over 15,000 KMs since then. If/when I fall (it’s very rare), the points of contact with the road that concern me most are my elbows and hips. My average pace is about 4:20 per KM ( ie ~ 13km/hour) but double this when going down hill. At age 70, I don’t heal as fast as I did in my youth. I never Nordic Cross Skate without protective gear and the GF shorts have been ideal for my sport. They are light, cool, durable and stay in place. Once I have them on, I forget that I am wearing them yet know that I am well protected. I few years ago, I crashed going down hill and broken my thumb but my hip suffered no harm whatsoever. For this reason, they get 5 stars.
