Not what I expected.

This spoon is the length I wanted but the bowl is too large. I wanted a spoon that I could stir things on the stove with then use as a serving spoon also. It is the length I wanted and a spoon about 9 inches long seems to be hard to find. I would have preferred that the bowl not be so large. As others said, the label glued on the back is horrible. I soaked in very hot dishwater then had to scrub with a nylon net scrubbie then put more dish detergent right on the last of the glue and scrub some more in order to get it off. I figure I took off a layer of the finish just trying to get the glue off. These aren't the weight spoon I prefer and there is no grade on them. I assume it must be 18/0 but the very fact that they don't specify the grade means that they aren't a very good quality. However, they will work alright I guess.

Great bargain for the price

The reason it doesn't have 5 stars, especially since it was so inexpensive, is because the bowl of the spoon isn't very deep. Still serves up well, has heft so it feels sturdy, which is kind of a surprise for something at this price point (under $10), and it holds its shine through the dishwasher. All in all a great bargain.

** Update on 12/24/2013: I originally paid about $6 for these; I noticed today the current price is over $10. You'd be nuts not to go for the WMF Manaos - a much nicer spoon, currently less expensive. They're fairly large and flat, and the price is right, if you're going to use them in a cafeteria, commercial, church-social kind of way. If they're for a nice dinner where presentation is important, you can do a lot better for just a little more money - The WMF Manaos Bistro serving spoon available on Amazon is very nice.

It is what it is, a large spoon. Got this for a gift and had a name engraved on it. It is ridged and seems to be made of a quality metal.

Serviceable server

A little lightweight and cheap feeling - I'd prefer something the felt a bit more substantial and was more comfortable to hold. But at the price I paid (~$6) I can't really complain too much. The bowl is large and broad, but is rather shallow, so it's not great for doling out liquids, but perfect for, say, rice dishes.

Nice serving spoon

I was looking for some cheap serving spoons that would look nice enough. This spoon was a little shorter than I realized, but looked nice and served its purpose. I am sure I will use this for many parties to come.

good quality, great size "bowl"

I use these the most for serving...good quality, great size "bowl". I had three of these previously...until someone threw away by mistake. Was happy to locate a replacement. I will get more in the future as well. Think they will make great gifts also as many people don't usually have this size.

I love it. I was disappointed to see that it had a short handle but now really appreciate the fact that it does. It's so much more handy with a short handle.
