Easily Flushmount your FastCap PowerHead Screws
The product was easy to use & effective out of the box. The factory setting of the depth of cut was perfect for the screwhead thickness though it also appears to be adjustable if ever needed. The tool drills a pilot hole for the screw while cutting the recess for the screwhead. I was surprised how easy and effective it worked. The product also ships with a second/additional drill bit (assuming a replacement for the installed pilot bit if ever needed) as well as a limited number of self-adhesive "buttons" in white and wood finish, that allow you to cover the screw head if desired. There are no instructions with the product but the tool's use is straight forward and evident.

Great way to built high quality proffesional looking cabinets
I'm in the process of replacing the cheap wire shelves that the builder put in our home 10 years ago with nice clean white melamine that will be taller, stronger and more importantly feature more shelves. This tool allows you to predrill the melamine and create a small counter sink area for both the screw and the screw cap. Its a very cool system. Operation wise its pretty simple, The biggest pain is the setup as you have to drill 2-6 holes and then test them to ensure the depth stops at the right height. Other users have complained about the fact that the adjustment screws are plastic, I personally do not have a problem with that as you must understand that if you had a metal screw and clamped down onto the threads you could conceivably damage the threads rendering the tool unusable. The tool comes with several replacement parts, including an extra setscrew, drill bit and they even throw in a few 2 1/2" and 3" screws. I did not give the tool 5 stars for 2 reasons. First the package that it came in contained two small tubes both were open and the parts were everywhere within the package (preventable if the manufacturer had placed a small piece of tape to seal the tube). Secondly at the price point that this comes in I would have preferred that they had forgone including the free screws and instead had some sort of blow molded case or a cheap little plastic box or ANYTHING to hold the device and its parts. When I buy a Dewalt or Makita screwdriver bit set they always come in a blow molded case so why doesn't this? Besides those two nitpick items its a great tool and is invaluable if your going to do projects with melamine. About my reviews. I have a pretty basic rating system 3 stars = meets expectations, in order words it does what its supposed to do. 1 & 2 stars = fails to meet expectations, doesn't cut the mustard. 4 & 5 stars = exceeds expectations. Its gotta REALLY rock to get 5 stars. I try to be as detailed as possible without getting technical. There are a lot of reviewers out there that just give too much info I try to keep it simple If you have a question about the product or review, post a message in comments and I generally will respond within 24 hours. [...] Thanks!

Set screws will not hold firmly
I bought this item so I could install some clips on a table I was constructing. While using this tool the set screw that is used to lock in the proper depth of cut would not hold no matter how tight I tried to make it. Consequently the depth of cut was much too great on many of my attempts. Otherwise it worked for what I wanted it for but I did have to figure out how to repair about half the holes I drilled.

Like it
Wasn’t sure that this was worth the price, but once I used it I was convinced. Well designed, well engineered. Allows adjustments for different screw length and desired counter sink depth. There’s also a threaded collar to fine tune the counter sink with thumb screw to lock it in. Depth collar is independent from spinning parts so it does not mar work piece. Kit includes two hex keys for the two set screws that control drilling depth and counter sink, two spare drill bits, as well as spare set screws and thumb screw in a square plastic storage tube. Yeah, you get few sample screws, too. Do you need this to install Fastcap screws? Nope. If you want consistent, professional results then you should consider it.

Get this and make other shops jealous!!
Wow, we have been using the fast cap system for about a year now and we are big fans. If you are not familiar with it here is how it works. First you spend waaaay more than you normally have on a drill bit. This thing was probably gifted to the Fast cap staff by Zeus or some Greek god because it works divinely. This drills your pilot hole, and shoulders the hole so you can put one of their peel n stick caps to cover your screw head. You got to buy there screws to get the most from this system, and of course they cost more than the usual cheap bucket of rusty drywall screws you used in the past. Why would you want to buy these screws when you can get the previously mentioned 10lbs bucket of drywall screws for $20? Well these screws are pretty great, the thread is perfect for going into ply and the big flat head prevents pull through on the veneers of most finish ply. You have to work pretty hard to mess this up, I do have one guy at the shop though that does mess it up. He likes to hold the drill at all sorts of oddball angles to make sure that the peel and stick caps don't lay flush. Hes a real animal with the screw gun. I usually have him sweeping when we are using this. He does like to peel the stickers and put them on, but sometimes he screws up the grain direction..... We may be hiring later this month.
