Slightly tricky. Takes a bit of patience.

This was slightly tricky. It was a bit large (tall) for my cake, and whoever said it goes almost completely around an 8” cake is wrong, i did 2 complete stencils all the way around. I scraped off the first attempt and went at it again for a clean look. That being said this might help... Tips for success: work on a firmly chilled cake. or fondant might be better but i hate fondant. I did buttercream for both base and stencil. You could also stencil in royal icing. Be sure to get it close and smooth on your base frosting. I even brushed the back side with a small amount of veg shortening to adhere it to my chilled buttercream, this will help prevent bleeding/icing squishing outside the borders. I secured my corners with sewing pins. Go slow, take your time, be gentle. Smooth your stencil frosting fairly thin after applying but not so thin you see the stencil. If at first you don’t succeed, just try again! Overall it’s a good product. I wish it was a bit more flexible and less rigid.

Great stencil!

The stencil was sturdy and easy to use with buttercream. One of my favorite cakes thus far.

Perfect sized stencil used with buttercream.

This stencil was used on a cake and worked absolutely wonderfully. It wasn’t too flimsy and not too stiff. Wrapped almost completely around an 8” cake. Clean up was a breeze, used warm soapy water and dried on a drying rack.

Beautiful. Make sure you know what you're doing. Make sure you've used them before. Make sure you understand the proper consistency of icing for these. My first time using these on a wedding cake. Total disaster. Icing was way way way too thin. If you know what you're doing then these are absolutely gorgeous. Nice and big!

Disappointed

Far too deep and a lot of the pattern had to be masked before use which is fiddly to do and you lose the effect you were going for in the first place.

Not suitable for cake decoration

In my opinion this stencil is not suitable for cake decorating, it is too large the cake would need to be approx. 6-7 inches deep to be able to use the full stencil. I am an experienced cake decorator and can adapt most utensils, I had to select part pattern and this was difficult.
